Claudine Hellmuth stamps

Colour my Monday! Pistachio Pudding!

Happy Monday everyone! It is time to start playing with colour!

This weeks In Color 2013-15 has sort of passed me by … I really haven’t used it all! It just doesn’t appeal. I don’t know why. I don’t dislike it as such … It just doesn’t grab me as a colour I particularly want to use! So this weeks Colour My Monday was a challenge… And this colour is exactly the reason why I decided to try this challenge this year … To make me not always plump for the same old colours!

So this is the colour I have struggled with. As per usual my starting point was to use a background stamp and just start… I chose a random one I’ve had a long time, and added some “cracks” in it using a Sheena Douglass stamp. This provided the base panel onto which I added the cardstock pennants and then a piece of the Pistachio Pudding cardstock to the back with some doodling around the edge in the ink. I then rummaged through my random stamp box and came across some Claudine Hellmuth stamps I had completely forgotten about and never used. These are stamps that are in two sets… One set clear acrylic stamps with the outlines, and the second are foam stamps for the inside. Perfect I thought for this card. So I stamped out and fussy cut the dressmakers dolly and then added the foam colouring. I then decided it needed shading so took the aqua painter and added more ink using that.

I then found a sentiment stamp that had the word dream which I felt was lovely for this, and then added the paper button with a touch of peach bakers twine that I felt contrasted perfectly!

I then added it to a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and then added the final layer of the Pistachio Pudding. Finishing touches were of course the obligatory bling.

Love how this surprise turned out! I am not sure that I would ever have created this kind of card if I hadn’t just plunged in and started stamping and I don’t think I would have done that if I hadn’t created this colour challenge! So pleased I have!

Happy crafting!
