Gorgeous Grunge, Gorjuss, World Map

ATC swap: Books

Following on from yesterday’s time ATC for August I have the September ATC which had a theme of books (Karen I think suggested this?!)

I knew immediately that I wanted to use a particular Gorjuss stamp for this, and to play with my Promarkers and I also knew what quote I wanted to use! But a small problem presented itself… I couldn’t find my gorjuss stamps… Not a single one of them! Fortunately a few weeks after starting to look for them I decided to completely rearrange the shelves and found them filed away right at the bottom and the back of one of the shelves! Horrah! Excitement at finding them led me to start this ATC batch straight away – even though it was only the end of June.

I used Baked Brown Sugar for the stamping onto Whisper white cardstock. Then coloured the girl in with my Promarkers keeping to a neutral colour scheme!

Next to create the background. I found some brown paper, and stamped in Crumb Cake the fabulous World Map, then using Baked Brown Sugar stamped the speckles from Gorgeous Grunge and then used some gold pigment ink to stamp the splodge. Then I inked round the edge in Soft Suede. Next a strip of torn book print … Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator in this case. And a brown organza ribbon wrapped around it.

Now all that was needed was to cut out the girls, print off the quote and cut that out and stick together, well I got my prototype done… Including mounted onto More Mustard cardstock…

But fussy cutting her our takes time… So it took me another week to finish them all off. Final touch was to add some liquid pearls to the heart in her hair. Love the final piece and how it all came together.

Happy crafting!
