Christmas card inspired by journal page

Yes another project I created to show how art journal style crafting is not just for the art journal for my session on Tuesday!

I decided to make a Christmas card to demonstrate how the type of page we did for the art journal session … No in process pics this time as I got carried away! Ooops!

I masked half of the card blank so ink was a nice neat line, and sprayed the blank with the green and teal Dylusions ink. This created a nice blended puddle! Once this was dry I stamped the Work of Art strip stamp in black.

Next I punched some trees out of book print (in this case Handel’s Messiah) to which I added a wash of Gumball Green. I stuck them down onto the card blank and then stamped the tinsel in Melon Mambo onto them from the Festival of Trees stamp set. I outlined the trees with a doodling pen, then outlined them using the faber Castell big brush pens.

I added stars around the page, then stamped onto separate white cardstock the sentiment. This I cut out, doodled around the edge, and then stuck onto the card blank. Again the big brush pens came out to add depth.

I adore the end result of this card… In fact I would love to make more… Such a simple, but arty card. Love it!

Happy crafting!
