Birthday cards for the twins! Playing with my stencil brushes

Today is the birthday of two of the princess’ friends… Hannah and Matthew! Happy birthday to them both.  So I decided to make them both cards that had a similar theme… Using my new love… clarity stencil brushes.  They are fabulous to use.  Nice muted effects and are making me use those lovely stencils in different ways.

First up… Hannah’s card…

Using the Happy Moments stamp set from SU for the facial image, then masked it off and used Spun sugar for the base coming out from the mask.  Then added the leaf mask and used worn lipstick and milled lavender.  Finished the edge with some more milled lavender.  Really enjoying using the distress inks as they blend so nicely.  Still pref SU inks for stamping though.  Coloured the flowers on the cake with SU markers and then added a dot of stickes to the centre for a bit of bling.

Next up is Matthew’s card…

This time I used the stencil first… Yes the clarity stencil that I love so much at the moment.  This time I used shabby shutters and cracked pistachio for the bubbles.  Then I stamped the bear and the border stamp (one of Darcy Eclectica stamps) in black Versafine.  Then I used the Spectrum Noir pencils to colour the bear and add colour to the border. I then blended a little bit of black soot around the edge of the card before sticking it to the card blank. I also added the sentiment from the happy moments set as it worked with the bear.

Pleased with how they both came out.  Hope that the kids did too!

Happy crafting!
