Horrah for Darcy

A couple of weeks ago I spent in the day in the company of the lovely Lynn being taught by the fabulous Darcy.

The day before, Lynn had let me run wild in her craft room so I made a card for Darcy using the fabulous Kate Crane designed Stampotique stamp.

So here are Lynn’s supplies and stash used to make this little bit of lovely!

Used my spectrum noir pencils to colour the bunny rabbit and some scraps of paper to make the background. Stamped sentiment is a stampin up one.

Of course in the madness of the day I forgot to give it to Darcy…. so relied on the very reliable Lynn to post it on!

Now I must share with you the excitement of this past weekend… I had the joy of going to watch my favourite programme be filmed at Elstree studios with my dearest hubby! Yes we were one of the 4.8million who applied for strictly come dancing tickets … and one of the very lucky few who won tickets in the ballot.

So on Friday night we drove to Borehamwood to stay in a hotel. It was a good drive, and nice to spend some quality time chatting with the hubby on the way down and listening to some different music from normal as we listened to Friday Night is Music Night for a tribute to Nelson Riddle.

Saturday morning we got up early and headed to the studio to get our tickets validated. We got there at about 8am and we’re 254 and 255 in the queue… and the validation didn’t start until 9am. First in the queue had arrived there at 3.50am to start queuing…. now that is dedication!

So within 2 hours of joining the queue we were able to leave and get some breakfast then headed back to the hotel for some rest time and prettification time! After all you have to get glam for strictly!

don’t we scrub up well!

3pm we headed back to join the much smarter queue than we had been in the morning. Was nice to see cheerful excited faces and so many pretty outfits in one place.

By 4pm we were in the marquee outside the studio drinking overpriced naff wine and getting very excited along with 718 other people! At 4.45pm it was time to be filtered into the tv studio. Now whilst I am sure the studio looked smaller than it does on the tv, this was not the first time I had been lucky enough to go to the filming so I thought it looked huge. You see last time I went with my friend it was at bbc tv centre before they closed that building and that was a much smaller studio.

Regardless of size this was full on excitement time… and the next few hours went by in a blur of clapping, whooping and cheering. It was fabulous and completely awesome to be involved in this amazing programme.

We are now home and having watched the results show on TV with the princess our strictly sparkling weekend is at an end… but the memories of the fun time we had at Elstree will live forever.

Hope you enjoyed the little round up of our exciting weekend away!

Happy crafting!
