Decoupage hearts

Another heartful posting for the Paperartsy challenge … This time a make for the princess’ bedroom!

I had three wooden hearts that I had in the ‘to be altered’ pile for a while. I got some decoupage paper and then the princess and her friends covered each of the hearts with the strips of paper one day when they popped over between Christmas and new year.  They then sat on my desk awaiting finishing.

Today I finished them…

I added black paint to the edge with my finger and then stamped the words LIVE  LOVE  LAUGH to white cardstock and then added the little flower.

I decided to also add a little bit of stamping to break up the blue paper background a little.  I used Stayzon to add some geometric squiggles.

And here they are hung on the wall… not the easiest thing to photograph well… but the good news is that the princess loves them.

You should pop over to the Paperartsy blog and see what the design team have been making. I particularly love the piece Chris made. Love those heart flowers on wire… so creative and clever. Wonder if the princess fancies something like this in her room???

Happy crafting!
