Brushos, Masks/Stencils, Ribbons, Watercolor wings

My mother’s day card to my Mum

Yes I know it’s not quite mothers day yet but mine has to be posted early to reach Spain in time. Plus Mum doesn’t read my blog as far as I am aware so unlikely to see it!

Here is what I made for my Mum….

I used some patterned vellum that I bought a couple of years ago.  Through this I punched the ribbon edge punch and threaded the tangerine tango ribbon.

I then took some mixed media paper and a stencil that had swirls like the vellum.  I sprayed the paper with water through the stencil and tapped Brusho powders in reds, oranges and yellows onto it.  This meant it kept the stencil pattern but was still a Brusho bit of magic.  I love the way that the crystals mix together.   I left this panel to dry.

I then worked on the butterfly from the Watercolor wings set.  I do love these butterflies.  I used reds, yellows and oranges to create the butterfly and then cut it out.  I adhered the butterfly to the Brusho panel and layered it all up.  Finally I added some stickles for a bit of bling and to balance it with the vellum.

Love how this came out! Bright and beautiful for my lovely Mum!

The sentiment I stamped from alpha stamps in the Riding Hood Red ink.

Happy crafting!
