I get a new stencil every month through the Claritystamps stencil club and this month there was a fabulous Hare stencil that I had to do something with ASAP!
Here is my fast journal page…
The page had some marks on it already so it was already quite grungey. I gave the top part a coat of Fossilised amber distress stain and then added Spiced Pumpkin I the used a circle stencil to wipe away some ink for the sun. The bottom half was a mix of the brown and green distress stains and I kept wiping off and then adding another layer to get more texture.
Then I added a little bit of stamping using some Claritystamps and archival. Because the page was quite wet still it wasn’t brilliant stamping at the bottom but I quite like the roughness to it.
I then added the stencil and added black gesso through the stencil.
Then added the Indian ink wording and outline. The page was done…. although then later that night I grabbed another 5 mins and added white paint pen to the words and some copper acrylic ink spots and added that to the rest of the hare to make him shine!
Love how simple this was and yet effective. May have to make a cleaner version on a canvas board at some point as it is so nice a stencil image.
