DT: Incy wincy : adding texture

Posted by

Hi everyone (well everyone who reads this!)

Another challenge at Incy Wincy starts today and the challenge is to add texture! The sponsor is Drawn with Character and I used this cute fox image for my card.  I started with adding some glass gel bead gel to the tail and chest area onto which I sprinkled some light brown brusho… I then added a wash of colour to the image with orange and Gamboge brusho.  Because the brush also had some shimmer paint on it, there was a glimmer to the wash.

Here it is before it dried! How cute is this already? So the next morning I went into the craft room to see how the gel had set…

Look at all the sparkle!

I needed to cut him out because there was a little smudge so I knew die cutting a shape wouldn’t work… now what to do with him?

I decided to carry on with the brushos and this time use a stencil that I had from Claritystamps of a lovely woodland scene… I sprinkled the brushos over the stencil onto a piece of cardstock and then sprayed them. I used Leaf Green, turquoise, cobalt blue and prussian blue attempting to get some variation in the sky colour. I ten brushed around the outside of the cardstock with some lucky clover ink and a stencil brush.

I mounted it onto some very dark green cardstock and onto a white card blank. The fox I added using some foam pads to lift him up and then added the tag and a little bow to finish it off.

I love how this finished up and whilst the bead gel might only be a little element of texture I love how it shines and looks so glossy.

I know exactly who this card is for and she is likely to see this post well before her birthday… so happy birthday about 2 months in advance to my friend who is obsessed with foxes. Happy birthday Julie! X

Now pop over to the blog to see what everyone else has been up to!

Happy crafting!

Catherine
