Fabric in my Paperartsy journal

Here is the other page I did at the weekend for my Paperartsy challenge journal.   This time the theme was fabric… not my strong suit I must admit but I loved the couple of hours of play this gave me.

I grabbed some pieces of fabric… denim coloured fabric, white cotton, canvas tags.  Along with some scrap gelli prints and some dressmaking pattern paper and stapled them together with some pretty turquoise staples.  Then I went to town with my sewing machine.

Once they were sewn together into two page sized pieces I stamped the lovely Darcy snail onto a separate piece of cotton and sewed him to a piece of card.  I then painted him quite carefully.  I then used the paint on my palette to brayer onto the background and then dry brush.  I also used the cog stamp Darcy designed and stamped that randomly.  Then I stencilled the word onto the large canvas tag and hand sewed this using black cotton.

Next I grabbed some embroidery silk and did some random sewing stitches over the page and added the buttons too.  The final touch was to add the little yellow ribbon trims to the tags.

Absolutely love how this came out.  A completely different style of page than I would normally do and that’s why I love this challenge.

Happy crafting!
