Happy Halloween house

A couple of days ago I shared with you a Halloween themed card I made for a friend.  I made reference to the halloween house I also made. Well it is time to share it!

I am making some Christmas houses as part of a Christmas gift with some friends … more about that at Christmas time … well I had a little house that I had made up but wasn’t feeling Christmassy about it so ended up turning this one into a little halloween house. I knew that Hannah would like it so I thought I would gift it to her for her birthday.

The house is made from wooden blocks on which there used to be stamps mounted. My  friend has been converting her wood mounted SU stamps to cling mount so as a group we have lots and lots of these wooden blocks to play with!

This had lots of lovely bright pretty colours on it … but I ended up adding the black gesso over the top of that.  I then aadded some coral and autumn fire fresco paints.  as they are translucent I also added a little bit of chalk in too.

I then added stamping using a text stamp from Tim Holtz and black gesso to add random pattern over the house, and then the spider stamp on both the front and back. I then made sure the rroof was black and added glass bead gel and added a purple bead on the top. Next I some black ink around the edges to give it some shading and some flicks of the orange paint too.  Finally I then added little windows and doors.

These pictures are whilst waiting for the glass bead gel onto dry.  It did get to be clearer.

Hannah loved the little gift and I kknow my bit of play time was appreciated.

Happy crafting !

One last pic added before I gave her the house…
