I had been a while since I did anything in my journal with my design team stuff, my ATC obsession and various Christmas projects that I will be sharing next month… so I decided to dive in and just get one started last Sunday.
This is how the page started… lots of wiped off stencils. I love doing this as it makes it easy to start when the page isn’t completely blank. I added a coat of gesso first to push some of the areas back and give me a base to work from. then started adding texture.
I used masking tape and book print and patterned paper and some wax paper too. All stuck down with Matt gel medium.
Then more gesso added to make it more cohesive.
Once the gesso was dry I added distress crayons and blended them … love the richness of the colours and the ease of blending using these. Next I got out some stencils and went to town! I used both black Dylusions paint and gelatos through the stencils. Then I did some colour removal using a baby wipe through a stencil too.
I also added some transparent texture gloss paste through a stencil too… this is it wet so it’s not not transparent at this moment.
Skip forward two weeks … yes I did nothing crafty for a full two weeks for a mixture of reasons of being too busy and being not in the right place… and the page still looks the same (except the gloss texture is now transparent!)
Hoping to grab some craft time this weekend and finish off and will share once finished!
Happy crafting !
