Artist Trading Coins … a new swap group

So the crafting world has a new craze… Artist Trading coins! And of course I’m loving this new little canvas to art away on a mini round scale!

I made my first ones a couple of weeks ago (here is the post about them) and now find I am making more and more of them … just because! So I thought why not set up a Facebook swap group and see if others are interested in this too. Turns out I am not alone!

So the Artist Trading Coins UK swap group was born. The rules are make three coins each month to a theme (May’s theme is light and dark), send them to me with an SAE and I will send you three back from different artists. Sound like fun? If you fancy joining pop along to the group and ask to join!

So have I made mine for the month of May? Of course not… but here are some of the coins I have been making!

I added paint using a gelli plate and stencils to mountboard then cut them out using a die.

I then added doodling, stamping, splatters of paint and some black paint edging and then found some printed collage images and started layering them up.

Next I added sentiment and more doodling. Then I added Versamark and clear embossing over the whole coin and this gave it a fab finish.

I love how these came out…

Happy crafting!

  1. Thanks for setting up this Group. I joined another Group but it is person to person trading and I forget to whom I should be sending trades etc so this is wonderful.
I will promote as much as I can….. good luck and COUNT ME IN!!

  2. As a side question – which make of die are you using?
I have managed to purchase a punch, hopefully the right size, but the sites I have searched for dies do not seem to give the sizes so I won’t buy.
    Thanks
