Canvas and Mixed Media art, Undefined stamp carving

Emotion art journal page

One of the Facebook groups I am in has a monthly prompt for an art journal page… and this month it was use words and be about emotions.

Anxiety and depression are issues for me and the last month has been challenging with anxiety in particular… so this tip in in my Dylusions art journal was perfect to work on as the wiped off background of black gesso was just right as the base for my page.

I added some stamping and some handwritten words in black in the background. Then stencilled the word Fear along the bottom. I created the panel using a handcarved stamp I made a few years ago and stamped it in different colours and embossed a couple too to create a crowd and then inked it up with a few muted distress inks.

I added the panel and then the chit chat words to finish off the title. Then my favourite embellishment of the moment… black enamel accents! The return to sender tag at the top was already on but it worked with the page so it got to stay!

A simple but good page and a nice bit of therapy for me too!

Happy crafting!
