I fancied a change of pace for the inchies I was making for this month’s UK stampers swap and wanted a clean and simple look. I had a little hunt through the stamps and thought the mama elephant dogs woof and cat meouw sets with the individual animals would be perfect.
So I cut some mount board into 1inch squares and then stamped all the images onto them using Memento. I don’t often use memento ink but knew I wanted to use promarkers and it’s the best ink for them.
Then each little cutie got a base colour of ivory.
I am not the most proficient colouring person with alcohol markers but I’ve learnt that for me adding a base layer is a good start. Then adding layers on top and returning to this colour helps to blend the colours.
What helps, or actually may hinder, is that these are super tiny images so they don’t need much work in terms of many colours but I still wanted to achieve a blended look and some shading…
Which on some I managed but not so much on others!
Still I was super happy with these.
Finished with a simple edge using a warm grey colour.
Cute images and a real change of pace for me from the mixed media stuff I’ve been sharing.
Happy crafting!
