Good morning all!
Here is this month’s Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge… and despite it being December I decided not to go Christmassy but instead create some travel/postage themed cards.
I used the papers which were hot of the press papers I got with a magazine a long time ago… and ended up with 4 cards in total.
Love the vintage look to these.
I thought I would talk you through a bit of how I made these…
1. Cut papers into pleasing layers … and then inked the edges. I got this ink with a magazine and found it was perfect for this.
Also cut apart some of the feature images.
2. Add Stamping to make some of the papers more unique. I chose this little sprig stamp for these cards. It’s subtle and adds to the vintage look.
3. Add embossing to some feature elements … sometimes with the embossing pen and sometimes versamark.
And finally when layering up I sometimes add foam pads to add dimension and on these cards added eyelets and string for more texture and interest.
Hope you like these as much as I do… it was good to have a break from festive creating … but will no doubt be back to it tomorrow!
Off to see what others have got up to on the blog… sure there will be some great uses of patterned paper!
And pop back later for some Christmas crafting!
Happy crafting!
Catherine
Well done Catherine! !! These cards are beautiful. Love how you’ve personalised them as well.
I shall have to keep this page as I remember those papers….somewhere in the depths of my shelving…. I know they’re there…
