So I have another spread in a circle journal to share with you… this time in Deb’s journal. And her instructions were no stamps which added another challenge as I rarely do anything without a stamp or four! So here is what I did!I took the page and covered it with quotes from Midsummer night’s dream. Then I took the small square and circle gelli plates and added a patch work of prints using my team and lime colour scheme using the Paperartsy fresco finish paints.
Love how this was shaping up. I also added some gelli prints to some book print.
Next I added stencilling to all of it. I kept going this time with black gesso adding the details with a small brush and some more details added with the edge of a credit card.
I also added some splatters to both the bookprint pieces and the background.
I then cut and punched circles put of the book print…
Then I assembled it into a formation that appealed…
And the set to working on giving it definition.I used the sewing machine to add some texture and some extra interest. I used Inktense pencils to add to the circles and then added doilies to add a different texture and some additional white into the page.
Finally I added some pen marks and some stickers for the title of the page and some washi which I thought helped with the framing of the focal element.
Happy with how this came out and how different it is. Really struggled with the no stamps but managed it. And love the gelli printed background over the handwriting.
Hope Debs likes it too!
Happy crafting!
Catherine
