Merry Moose, Ribbons

Stampin Up Sunday- Merry Moose

So this week the new Autumn Winter catalogue launched and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to get the Merry Moose bundle as I have a bit of a thing about Moose!

As it was even though I got the bundle a couple of weeks ago I’ve only managed to ink up two of the stamps so far and make one card… and this is the card… and not a moose in sight!

Not sure why but I ended up want to make a vintage shabby chic card using just the tree image. Ah well that’s how the mojo goes sometimes isn’t it?

So I inked a piece of card with Pear Pizazz and Mossy Meadow and the stamped the image of the tree using the same and a bit of soft suede sponged onto the tree trunk part.

Then I splattered it with the green ink, water and some of the rose gold ink I got with the Everything is Rosy set. I love the liquid shimmer inks for adding shine and a mixed media feel.

I also added a piece of card I inked in soft suede after scrunching up and distressing a bit and then took a piece of wood grain paper (this isn’t SU paper but you can get some other similar background papers like this in the In Good Taste dsp pack – I’m just trying to not buy patterned paper until I’ve used up what I already own!) and added soft suede ink to it to make sure the colour tone was right and used this as the base background layer.

I created a tag free hand… a punch would be better but don’t own any of the fab punches that would do this (yet!) and inked that too before stamping the sentiment.

I added seam binding and the linen thread to embellish and a little rose gold mirrored gem from the stash then mounted it on to a soft suede card blank.

Inside the card I created a panel inking it with soft suede and stamping the tree in soft suede off the edge and then doing lots of splatters.

Love this vintage feeling card and how fun it was to make. A very different feel! And I am looking forward to getting the moose inked and punched for future cards.

Happy crafting!
