One sheet wonder … Peace and Joy stamp and die set

This week I have yet another one sheet wonder to share using a mix of new and old stash!

The paper is old SU DSP called Winter Frost … I still have a few sheets left and am trying my hardest despite much temptation to not buy new papers until I’ve actually used up what I’ve got!

Teaming it with new stamps and dies brings a new life to the older paper (which is still gorgeous!).

I chose to use the new Peace and Joy stamp set with the coordinating dies.

I didn’t really follow a plan for the one sheet wonder but managed to create different sized panels to make 11 cards in total. I mounted them with either Smoky Slate or Basic Black or Basic Grey to create quite modern cards. I thought they would work well with the fun script words in the Peace and Joy stamp set.

Once I had some vague ideas of how the cards would come together I then started stamping…

I used inks I knew would work with the paper… Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo and Smoky Slate. Then I got started with fussy cutting the leaves and berries and the little sentiment strips.

Once I had a nice pile of bits I decided I needed some contrast and chose a bright pink… Melon Mambo.

Finally I had a tin full of die cuts and little fussy cut elements ready to start putting cards together.

I grabbed ribbons from the stash most of which are retired in both the smoky slate and the melon mambo. I also ran a few of the background panels through embossing folders. Again I haven’t bought any of the new ones just yet because I already have a few Christmas themed ones in my stash and I don’t use embossing folders nearly enough!

I created card blanks from Smoky Slate and Basic Black and layered up elements to create this funky set of cards.

I created three using the Joy stamp and die as a feature.

Three using Peace…

And 5 using Bright as the focal point…

Absolutely love how cool these all look.

Now using a dark card blank such as black or grey causes some issues for writing on and my intention is to give these cards to my parents for their stash this year… so I created inserts and also decorated the envelopes whilst I was at it.

I finished off the cards with some sequins I glued in place.

Love how double sided paper gives you a couple of options for one sheet wonders.

Hope you enjoy this different take on using new stamps with old stash!

Happy crafting!
