More decoupage cards

Yes the remaining six decoupage cards I made from the Crafts Beautiful decouoage kit… these were made adding my own card blanks into the supplies…

The first three I added simple embossed sentiments and decoupage panels.

The final three I added some patterned paper and cardstock to finish them off in addition to sentiments either from the kit or from my stash.

I added glitter to some and little dots of glossy accents to others and on the final one I added flicks of pearlescent pink mica spray.

Loved this little play with decoupage for a change. And it just goes to show that allcrafting can be fun!

Happy crafting!

Decoupage cards

There was a discussion between my crafty friends and I last week about decoupage and although you may think with my love of mixed media and grungy crafts that decoupage might not be my thing… but I do enjoy it every so often. So when I saw the Crafts beautiful magazine and it had a decoupage kit in it as the freebie I thought … why not!

Of course it was meant to make 6 cards but I ended up adding a few card blanks and bits and pieces of paper to make it into 12!

Here are the first six which are using the cards that came in the pack with various levels of decoupage. I did add some glitter, glossy accents and some foiled sentiments to a few to add to them… otherwise these pretty flowers are mainly how the kit intended them to be (I just skipped a few layers to save them for other cards!).

I will share the other six I made another day… but hope you also like these pretty cards. Far from my usual style but still fun and relaxing to make.

Happy crafting!

DT: Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge September

Hi there. I’m a bit late with this design team challenge but got there eventually tonight to join in on the first day.

It is time to use some patterned paper on a project … in my case a card using the lovely Gorjuss decoupage panel.

The green flowery paper I thought worked perfectly and I just needed to tone it down so added distress inks to the edge of the paper and the tag.

Love the layers and finish course the Gorjuss girl.  Now I am off to see what the rest of the design team have been up to with their stash of patterned paper over at the blog

Happy crafting!

DT: Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge

July already! Time for another Design Team contribution for Craftyhazelnuts  patterned paper challenge.

This time I am using up some old SU paper and made another card using the Docrafts decoupage kit and making another masculine card.  You would have thought after all the boy cards I made in June I would have had enough by now, but seemingly not!

I added the cute little tool charms and mounted it on craft paper.

Decoupage hearts

Another heartful posting for the Paperartsy challenge … This time a make for the princess’ bedroom!

I had three wooden hearts that I had in the ‘to be altered’ pile for a while. I got some decoupage paper and then the princess and her friends covered each of the hearts with the strips of paper one day when they popped over between Christmas and new year.  They then sat on my desk awaiting finishing.

Today I finished them…

I added black paint to the edge with my finger and then stamped the words LIVE  LOVE  LAUGH to white cardstock and then added the little flower.

I decided to also add a little bit of stamping to break up the blue paper background a little.  I used Stayzon to add some geometric squiggles.

And here they are hung on the wall… not the easiest thing to photograph well… but the good news is that the princess loves them.

You should pop over to the Paperartsy blog and see what the design team have been making. I particularly love the piece Chris made. Love those heart flowers on wire… so creative and clever. Wonder if the princess fancies something like this in her room???

Happy crafting!
