DT: Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge

Hello … how is it already the 1st of October? Wow! This year is zooming past! And apologies no blog posts for the last couple of days… but I am back up and running (well stumbling along may be a more accurate description) again!

Well as it’s the first of the month I have a Design Team contribution for Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge.

I used Memories and More card pack from the Colour Theory suite and made an anniversary card.

I love how this came out, especially with the acetate overlay. Nice to use these project life style cards that I know I am unlikely to use for the reason intended!

Rightio… with that card shared it is now time for me to go check out what my fellow team mates have been up to with their stash of patterned paper!

Happy crafting!

DT Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge

Hello there… well the summer is coming to an end and it’s nearly time for me to go back to work and the princess to start at high school! And as it’s the start of the month it’s also time for my contribution to Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge. I really do have so much patterned paper to work through!

These particular papers came with a magazine along with the dies for the bird and the stamps I used for the sentiment.

Such a pretty set. Really need to get making more using these papers. But for now I’m off to see what everyone else has been up to with their patterned paper.

Happy crafting!

Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge… a cute anniversary card

Hello there.

I am late with this month’s Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge but have finally got my act together and managed to get my card finished and photographed.

I used the the wonderful paper and images from a Making Cards magazine and some crumb cake cardstock. The paper goes with slightly different images but I loved this feather paper and the romantic image.

Now off to do a quick trawl round the rest of the blog dt and see what they made using their patterned paper stash.

Happy crafting!

DT: Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge

Hello.  How quickly did June go past? Wowser half the year gone!

So as it’s the first of the month I have a design team project to share with you that I did for Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge.

The challenge is to use patterned paper and so I grabbed some of mine from the stash and created a card for my Mums birthday (which isn’t until next month but hey I’m organised for once!).

I chose three papers from the same pack. Unfortunately forgotten what the name of the pack was and layered them up, inking each of the edges I tore.  I stamped the Tim Holtz butterfly a few times lightly and spritzed it with water to oxidize the background… yes I had used my beloved oxides. I let it dry and then did a mammoth amount of sewing on the machine. I thought this gave it a nice patchwork type effect.

Next I took a kraft card tag and added the doily and part of the patterned paper I had cut out. I added some trim which I had got in a swap and then stamped and cut out another of the butterflies to layer up.

The sentiment was also stamped on the same patterned paper and then I took a stamp with the word Mum and added that too.

Finished off with the tiny pearl gems from stampin up scattered across the card.

Love how this came out. Now off to see what the rest of the DT have been up to this month with their patterned paper stash.

Happy crafting!

Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge DT – May

Hi there… how is it May already?

Ah well happy May to all my readers… and today I have a pirate card for my DT contribution to Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge.

I used magazine papers from the stash and a very old stamp the origin of which is now unknown!

I even made this on video so you can watch the process… here it is.

But for now I am off to see what the others did for their contribution and looking forward to blog hopping through the entrants too!

Happy crafting!

DT: Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge

Hello… it’s March the first… so happy St. David’s Day and even more importantly … Happy birthday to my Auntie M! X

Today I have my contribution towards the Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge blog.

I found this fab paper (Print poetry from stampin up) in the stash and realised that the writing stamp from Paperartsy would work well with it!

I decided to emboss the image and sentiment to add some texture to the card. I also made the card blank out of the soft suede cardstock that goes so well with the paper.

Now off to see what my team mates on the design team for the blog have been making…

Happy crafting!
