UIUS! Batch of ten completed!

Yes I have managed to complete a batch of 10 cards as part of my Use it up Saturday pledge!

I grabbed ten cards which had a fabulous tree paper backed with Old Olive cardstock, this was my batch!

The paper worked perfectly with the Festival of Trees stamp and punch of course… So these were next… On some scrap (of course) whisper white…

Then a delve through the scraps box gave me some lovely Raspberry Ripple to go with the greens, punched and embossed!

A quick rummage in the ribbons basket secured some lengths of ribbon.

Ten cards then assembled, including sentiments stamped from Henry Says and stickles added for some quick and easy bling!

Apart from the cardstock for matting the DSP and the card blanks… A perfect example of how to Use It Up!

Happy crafting!

UIUS! First cards completed!

Why there is a moose loose about this hoose!!!

So my first use it up Saturday did not entirely go without using new stash… I carved a new stamp! Oops! The reality is I was dying to carve a stamp, and thought the best way to test it out was to make a couple of cards using it!

Here is my moose!

Those of you who are eagle eyed will know I did test him out on an art journal page a few weeks ago… But know he wasn’t super clear on that… Here he gets to be focus of all attention!

Isn’t he the cutest… I used google images to come up with the idea and drew him out on paper several times till I was happy with him. Then I transferred him onto some easy carve rubber (I bought this before Xmas as I fancied the idea of carving a larger stamp and hadn’t got a big enough mount in the Undefined kit that SU sell… So spotted the easy carve and thought it would work for the job … And so it does!

So then I grabbed a couple of the cards I had set aside ready and decided the small piece of Papermania DSP I had for each of them would look good with a small amount of Gorgeous Grunge stamping behind it in Smoky Slate and Cherry Cobbler. Then I stamped the moose onto some white and fussy cut them out with an outline before layering them onto the card blank. The sentiment is an old freebie with a magazine which seemed perfectly quirky to go with my moose! As you can see they didn’t ink up evenly or perfectly, but I was really happy with this as it makes them slightly more in keeping with the grunge stamping. Next time I might try kissing the moose… To another stamp to create a pattern to the stamping too… Think that will work well with a solid stamp like this. I also stamped the envelopes to finish them off.

So first of my UIUS cards made … And a hand carved stamp thrown in too!

Happy crafting!
