Patterned paper playtime

Well hello… as its the first of the month it is time for my patterned paper playtime and this time I am sharing the card I actually made for my auntie for her birthday in March.

It uses the Berry Delightful dsp that I cut apart to get all those lovely strawberries and the flowers and leaves. The reverse is the picnic blanket style red paper. As with the other cards I’ve been making for this challenge this year I’ve been taking a dsp and fussy cutting out elements to make good use of the dsp. Well this particular one has given me lots and lots of fruit, leaves and flowers to play with!

I wanted to make a bigger card for my auntie so this is a 7×7 and I created a curve across the page with ink blending and the lovely Parakeet Party ink to ground the strawberries. I then stuck them on and embossed the panel using the pinewood planks embossing folder. I love the effect this gives. It pushes the images into the paper as it if was one panel not pieces stuck together.

Next I die cut the stitched circle three times and stacked it up for dimension before adding the stamping, the strip for the sentiment and the strip of the dsp. I then stamped and die cut the Hugs from Lawn Fawn again die cutting it a couple of times for dimension.

After adhering it to the main panel I also added the three leaves and flowers as additional embellishments.

I added a mat of the Parakeet Party underneath to frame it and tie in the sentiment. I also coloured the gems and added them to the flowers to finish.

Love this special card for my auntie. She is passionate about growing things and gardening so I know she would have appreciated this fruity card!

Stampin Up Sunday Berry Blessings journal page

For today’s Stampin Up Sunday I added to the Ladybird Book Journal with a page which documents Maya Blackberry picking… and in turn my memories of blackberry picking with my grandad.

Of course I had to use the Berry Delightful dsp and the Berry Blessings stamps… I mean it was the perfect reason to use them!

I created a flip page and also added a slot for the hidden journalling.

I teamed the Berry Delightful papers with the Oh So Ombre papers as the colour match is perfect.

Love how this came together. Feel like I might need to raid the sticker stash for a few finishing touches, but this is how I’ve left it for now.

Happy mothering Sunday!

Tomorrow is Mothers day here in the UK (it’s also my daughters birthday so going to delay celebrating it for me by a week!) and so today I am sharing the card I made for my Mum.

Now I actually made this in January following a tutorial Sue Boothby did with us on a craftalong zoom session with my SU teamies.

She also used the Berry Delightful dsp but chose to use the Snail Mail stamps … I kept to the Berry theme for mine however as my parents surname is Berry so it seemed apt!

It was a complex card to make with all the panels and layers and mine didn’t quite work perfectly (I am rubbish at following instructions) but I made it work!

So there were panels and cards going backwards and forwards… its sort of difficult to explain so hope you get the idea from the pictures!

I just love the fresh look of these papers and the card was so special it had to be turned into a Mothers Day card for my Mum.

Hope those of you who are celebrating mothering Sunday tomorrow have a wonderful day.

Tag Thursday… UK stampers forum swap tag

My final project for UK stampers forum this month is the decorated tag… so of course that’s my Tag Thursday project for this week!

In keeping with the other swaps I made for UK stampers forum, I used the Berry delightful dsp, although the tag itself was covered with bookprint and gesso for the actual base.

I added strips of the paper and then an ATCoin I had covered with the paper. I chose the flower stamps for the main stamped images and coloured loosely with the Stampin Blends and cut them out.

I then stamped the sentiment and the panel with the sentiment I added some washi tape underneath to give some contrast.

I finished the tag with the gems and a bright red ribbon from the stash… a lovely fun project and I think a pretty tag!

A card sending a smile

Today I have a card I made for my parents sending them a box of goodies and their belongings left at our house.

I also wanted to send them a smile and virtual hugs!

I chose to use the Berry Delightful dsp and the Sweet Strawberry stamps. I also used the new to me Lawn Fawn die to cut out several in green and stack them up on the front of the card.

Love how this came out and it was so simple to put together.

Heart ATCS for UK stampers forum

I don’t always join in with the ATC swap at UK stampers forum, but this month the challenge was hearts and I am still absolutely in love with this stamp Darcy designed for Paperartsy. It’s been one of my favourites for a long time.

I kept to the theme of using the same dsp on the ATCs as I did for the coins… the red gingham from Berry Delightful. Then I embossed the heart onto white and cut it out.

I decided that it needed something behind the heart so I added strips of black washi tape. Then I added the red heart punched shape and added stickles to it for some bling.

I outlined the cards in black pen and called it done. Super simple and super effective!

Artist Trading Coins, Berry Delightful, Sweet Strawberry

UK stampers forum Artist trading coin swap

Well that was an odd 36 hours. Had my covid vaccine but the reaction to is was like a repeat of my covid experience in December on fast forward for 36 hours. No temperatures but instead a very painful arm and then all the other symptoms came and went over the time. Now, a couple of aches but otherwise back to how I was precovid vaccine… and hopefully full of lovely strong antibodies!

Thankful I had this post ready done as I didn’t manage to do anything at all yesterday.

I have three more artist trading coins to share with you this time using the Sweet Strawberry stamps and the Berry Delightful dsp…

I made these for the UK Stampers Forum swap. I added a piece of doily underneath and then stamped and fussy cut the pieces… I would have used the punch but I hadn’t got a large enough piece of card to fit all three on at once so just went for fussy cutting!

I also added the sentiment and then the little gems to finish off.

I went for a theme of the red gingham paper for all three swaps I made for the UK stampers forum swap … I’ll share the other things I made in a few days.

Tag Thursday… Berry delightful dsp

This week for Tag Thursday I actually turned the two tags I made into cards. I played with some dsp I had cut into for another project and left over Pear Pizazz card I had on the desk.

I started with this little tag and a scrap of the dsp with a bit of fussy cutting and layering (the bottom berry is layered up with a dimensional.

The sentiment I had to ink a bit at a time to get it to fit but I think it still looks great.

The second tag is a bit bigger and I went for a horizontal layout.

Again fussy cutting the berries and using the reverse for the main background panel.

I decided these would make great toppers for cards and that the reverse paper with all the berries would make a fun background.

The first one I added the doodle lines like on the tag, the second one I added one more berry as it needed it for balancing the layout.

Love these cheery fun cards and tags.

One sheet wonder… Berry Blessings and Berry Delightful

Howdy!

Saying howdy always reminds me of my friend Julie who I used to work with… miss her loads.

Anyways … today’s slice of life is …

The Serpent… who has watched this on the BBC, and how addictive is it? My word, not sure I will sleep until I get to the end… wow!

And in other non TV news:

1) the hair is back to being brown, the teenager did a great job of helping me dye it.

2) I exercised a bit last night, back to being knackered again tonight but going to push myself to do a bit more tonight.

3) my friend Michelle has got me all motivated to lose weight so I am tracking all food again.

Now onto the crafting.

Today I have a long YouTube video to share from the weekend as I ended up doing a One Sheet Wonder using the Berry Delightful dso and the Berry Blessings stamps. It was lots of fun… but even speeding loads of the process up it was over an hour long. Well I know some people find watching the long videos relaxing… but I really need to learn how to do a quick project! 🤣🤣🤣

So here is the template I used for cutting the 6×6 piece of paper …

And here is what I made…

Loved playing with the stamp set and this gorgeous paper…

In fact after I gave up filming I also decorated the inside of the cards with strips of paper …

And the envelopes I added the paper to the flap and stamped on the fronts…

… once I had done that it felt like the project was properly finished. Eight cards and envelopes beautifully decorated!

Love these freebies from Saleabration and looking forward to playing with them again!

Happy crafting!
