Awake at silly o’clock so thought I would blog something I did a few days ago… More scrapping! Playing with old kits to come up with a scrap page is fun. I have no memory of the layouts the kits were meant to make so just made it up!
So the paper and journaling tag were in the kit but I added… The cardstock for the base, the stencil king using a clarity brush, the stamping using the Ellen Vargo stamps, the stars using Simply Stars, the buttons and the title.
Lots of fun!
Well it has been months since I had any desire to do scrap booking but the other night I suddenly got the urge when I came across the pack of papers from the class Helen did quite some time ago.
On the night of the class I forgot to take photos with me so just put together some layouts from the papers randomly, photographed them and then packed them away. This was one of those photos…
And this is the result of about an hours play…
I decided to trim down the main Dsp so that I could mount it into a 12×12 piece of Hello honey cardstock. I then used the same cardstock to mount the pictures and create the journalling strips. The title of the page was an Andy Skinner stamp. I then added some card candi and some lace tape as embellishments along with the book print leaves I stamped.
Yes that’s right I’ve joined a design team… I am designing some projects for Helen!
She has such a busy time of it designing all her classes that I have offered to help her out every so often and so on Wednesday this week, two of the layouts at her scrapbook class were designed by yours truly. Such a nice thing to have people like what I create enough to allow me to help them with their business.
So what did I design? Well we were using the glorious autumn themed papers… Color me AutumnDSP. (Gosh that has just killed me writing that in the American spelling!) and the theme for the class was hidden journalling/photos!
Layout one …
I kept to a simple colour scheme with the Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss dsps, and the whisper white. I used the Tape It stamps to create embellishments alongside the brushed gold buttons. Then the journalling is hidden on the tags on the right hand side popped behind the photo.
During the class I got round to creating a title using some alpha dies of Helen’s but not taken a picture of the page with the title yet…. Page is titled… BERRYS KID. This may make very little grammatical sense… Especially as she was picking blackcurrants not berries, but my maiden name was Berry so it is a play on that rather than about the fruit picking itself!
This time the layout featured a hidden photo… Can you see it! Well that’s the point … You can’t see it on the first photo… But you might be able to see it if I open the layout for a second pic…
Yes I created a panel with a hinge that opened up to reveal some journalling and another picture from the series of pictures.
I added to this layout by stamping using the Hardwood stamp and also cutting the leaves for the embellishments out of one of the pieces of dsp and adding them with dimension to some circles of cardstock.
Again the title was added after the photo… SMOOCH TASTIC. I die cut it out of coordinating colours and placed it both above the Soft Suede cardstock and below as a sort of frame.
Loved creating these pages, and as I said above, feels so good to be able to help Helen out with some of my creativity. I wonder what my next assignment will be?!?
