Forever Fern, Forever Greenery, Masks/Stencils, Splendid Stems

Texture and Forever ferns

Played with some blending onto white cardstock and then added some stencilling with iridescent modelling paste.

Then I went to town with Forever Fern stamps and a few different coloured inks. I decided to make it into a card for my friend’s who recently got engaged (I unfortunately couldn’t go to their party 😔).

So I then cut a few of the bowl shapes from the Splendid Stems dies set and created a bowl of foliage.

I added a little organza bow and some pearls to finish off.

Not 100% sure about the placement of stencilling, think it might have looked better more central under the bowl of foliage, but love the final card.

Memories and More house card

Another card made using that Memories and More kit that is just sitting on my desk needing to be used up. I genuinely love this kit as the cards in it are so cute, perfect colour combos and art work … and because the kit is great value there is loads of it just sitting there still waiting to be used. So I am trying my hardest to work my way through it and create some fun cards from it.

I decided to grab the house card this time. Did some fussy cutting and then chose some other cards to start layering up.

To be honest I figured this was enough and called the card done. But then the next day before I took the photos I decided to also add some gems and I added the remaining part of the house card in the inside as an accent too.

I layered a few pieces and also added some punching to make the sentiment into a banner with the banner punch. I also added some of the stickers from the kit, a piece from the Forever Gold (turned upside down to be white) and a few die cut leaves from the Forever Greenery dies.

Happy 16th birthday to my princess

I’m writing this ahead of her day but still in disbelief it has been 16 years since my baby girl arrived. So proud of the woman she is becoming. Love her to the end of the earth (even although occasionally she drives me insane!).

Here is the card I made for her.

Green has become the colour of choice of late and we have just finished decorating her room with green panel effect wallpaper and light green walls. So I decided to use some of the last pieces of the Forever Greenery dsp I had in my stash and the gold die cut to create this 7×7 card.

Of course the Biggest Wish stamps got used… and some foam stickers for the large 16 in the middle!

I added some hand sewing and some lace (to reflect her love of sewing and textiles) and the fussy cut leaves reflect her wish to have lots of plants in her room (albeit fake ones as none of us are good at looking after plants).

I added foam between some layers so this has plenty of dimension and a white string bow to add more texture!

The inside I took some of the remaining paper and some of the die cuts to create a panel. Again a bit of sewing and sentiment stamped to finish off.

The envelope I kept really simple… just paper down one side.

So happy birthday dearest Maya … hope you have a fabulous birthday. We love you lots xxx

DT: Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper

One more one sheet wonder for September’s Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge blog. Once again it is a 6×6 one and this time I used Forever Fern dsp. This was actually something I had as a kit for a card making class I ran last year but never ended up using it at the time.

Love all the die cuts and the snippets of ribbon and twine. I used the coordinating cardstock for the backgrounds.

For those that are interested this one sheet wonder template is one I’ve used before… both the class and other versions… here are the links.

Happy Birthday Dad

Howdy!

Today is my Dad’s birthday … and as its so close to fathers day I try to make something completely different in style! I did however use my new favourite stamp set Biggest Wish to make up part of the sentiment.

I chose to go full on layers however and used the Forever Greenery dsp and the gold embellishments for the card against the kraft card blank and Crumb Cake cardstock.

It was quite easy to make… just layers and the stamped sentiment as those gold embellishments do all the work… and the white leaves are from the same set, just reversed!

I used the remaining dsp I had on the desk (it was a 6×6 piece I had cut from the 12×12) to finish the inside of the cars off.

DT: Craftyhazelnuts Patterned Paper challenge: Forever Greenery one sheet wonder

Hello! Happy May Day!

Another one sheet wonder to share with you for Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge and kept it really simple on this.

I actually had a 6×6 square of the forever greenery in the pile on the desk so decided it was begging to be used for this. I know the paper is usually a 12 x 12 but I had cut this down for a class last year and this was leftover from that project.

I mat each piece with whisper white and then created backgrounds using Pear Pizazz. As I said I kept it simple.

Then I created the sentiments choosing these long thin ones from Fancy Phrases and embossing them with silver powder.

Card 1

Next I decided on the layout for each and adhered them in place, then added them to the card blanks.

I added the rhinestone gems to each of them and called them done!

So a simple 6×6 one sheet wonder for this month’s design team contribution… and another piece of dsp used!

Stampin Up Sunday – forever greenery tags

Today I have a project using the Scalloped Tag Topper. Yes I know I’ve been making loads of tags recently but I’m obsessed with this punch! I don’t own a massive amount of punches and rarely grab them, but this is such a good staple to have in your stash for making pretty tags. Must remember to use it more.

All you need is a strip 2″ wide and then punch the top and hey presto a pretty tag has emerged!

I used Soft sea foam as the base and onto this I stamped in soft suede and then a green embossing powder the dots from Forever Fern.

I then added a strip of Forever Greenery dsp. Then a Pear Pizazz die cut and a sentiment (from all of us) white embossed onto shaded spruce.

The ribbon was a bit of seam binding and some twine from the stash.

Stampin Up Sunday treat pounches

At the scrimpies team retreat back in September Amanda taught us how to make little treat pouches from a square of dsp… so I was keen to give it a try again and made these for my friends.

I used forever greenery dsp and cut it into 6×6 squares and did each one different.

Then I stamped and die cut a leaf from some scraps of patterned paper and added some sprigs I had die cut too.

Then I stamped the sentiment from Fancy Phrases onto some scraps of either white or crumb cake and turned them into little banners.

I punched a hole in the top where it was folded down to make it stronger. Through this I tied some white satin ribbon from the stash.

I love how each is different but easily made in a batch making kind of way.

Really shows off this beautiful paper too. So glad I ended up buying this paper for the class to go with the stamps and dies. It’s really beautiful.

Into each pouch I slid a herbal teabag and a little chocolate. A simple little treat for my friends who attended the zoom crafting class.

Crafting with friends forever greenery

I arranged a couple of zoom crafting sessions with friends and sent them all a kit to make this project… a one sheet wonder using forever greenery dsp and lots of lovely die cuts.

We had great fun crafting and the ladies all made some amazing cards… these were mine!

Will be doing a Christmas version in a couple of weeks too… looking forward to it.

Happy birthday ickle cus

It was my cousins birthday on Saturday and so here is the card I made for her.

I used some Forever Greenery dsp and lots of die cut sprigs to create the wreath. I added a few layers of coordinating coloured cardstock and created a gatefold card.

I made sure to carry the theme inside and added some more dsp inside as well as the soft sea foam panel to write on.

Just love how this finished up. Pretty but also modern.

Happy crafting!
