Does everyone have a problem using up scraps of paper, or throwing them away, or is it just me? My scrap box gets out of control quite quickly, so a few weeks ago I started to clear it out and use some of the bits that had accumulated and were too small to save, but needed using and not just recycling.
Here is batch number two of said cards!
Bright and busy DSP lent itself to a simple card with the addition of a sentiment, a scrap of ribbon and the two cute butterflies!
Some more chevron ribbon, a punched sentiment, and a lovely stamped and water coloured flower from the classy Everything Eleanor stamp set. Perfect.
Another classy card. This time Four Frames to provide the sentiment frame, and a little bit of decoupage to finish off. Once again chevron ribbon is fab!
Back to the modern look, some cocktails and some texture from the embossing folder. And a different ribbon this time… Some scrap red silky ribbon.
Finally something a bit different again…
The Sunflower stamp, teamed with grungy papers and some print (First Edition) and the added splotches from Gorgeous Grunge. Fab!
Not bad for an hours play and using up scraps!
I have recently had a bit of a tidy up! Mainly of the scrap box and got rid of things I really would never use by making the pieces big enough into envelopes for the lunch money for the princess! Ingenious use of paper that I otherwise would throw into the recycling! Or at least I think it is!
I have also been making up some quick and simple cards with the bits that were a bit to small to save but too pretty to throw away… Those really small bits and pieces you just can’t quite part with … So here is a selection of the cards I made using such cute bits and pieces!
A bright combination of Afternoon Daydreams, Summer Silhouettes & Papillion Pot Pourri with a splash of additional colour with the chevron ribbon!
Watercoloured Simply Sketched flower with my Inktense pencils (lush!) and used some random scraps of paper. Lovely little Itty bitty Banners sentiment too!
The fabulous Henry Says sits happily on the I am Me DSP scraps for this bright celebratory card!
Love how a delve in the scraps box can give me these three very different cards! I did some more but you will have to wait to see them!
Yes a quick and simple little card to share with you … Made just because!
Took a little scrap of dsp and some stamped elements and layered them up with coordinated cardstock … Jobs a good ‘un!
Hello there! Second post of this years Moments & Memories challenge. My challenge is to find 12 ways of using this sketch to inspire me…
Now the sketch is fairly simple and I encourage people to join me and do something with it. You don’t have to follow to be exact replicas … Just get the feeling of the sketch in what you create.
Here is my second attempt.
I kept to simple clean bold lines for this one.
I used the fab I am Me dsp which is bold and clean and teamed it with a piece of 12×12 More Mustard (now retired) and some Basic Grey and Pool Party cardstock for matting.
I added some bits of Pool Party ribbon and a couple of the fab stickers from the This and That Epic Day sticker set… Perfect as they have some Pool Party ones so they match perfectly!
So for this page I kept quite rigidly to the sketch only adding the journaling pieces as additions and of course the title … Maybe next time won’t keep to it as faithfully.
Please do share if you do something with my sketch … I love seeing what people make! Last month, my friend Karen sent me two pages she did at the beginning of the month. Aren’t they lovely?
Wow this week has flown past … Time for another Thursday Treasures challenge… And this week is sketch week!
I decided that another of our Disneyland Paris holiday snaps needed doing this week, so chose these pictures from the moment we informed the princess of where we were! I firstly played with the pics using different photo editing software and then some fab overlays from the Rhonna Designs app.
Once printed I decided the best papers to go with this picture were the I am Me dsp. So I cut them up into the appropriate shapes and then matted them with coordinating colours. I also added some edging with the appropriate colour Stampin write markers just to add some definition to the edges. Then I grabbed some stamps; Gorgeous Grunge, Bo Bunny and some random travel word stamps. I stamped them around the page in different colours to bring the papers together. Next I had the idea of using the dsp to cut out the luggage, these I decided would look good on the side of the page to keep to the travel theme.
Of course I then couldn’t quite love the layout so played with the pieces and put them at jaunty angles. Finally I felt this was the right way to go with the page. (I did consult with the hubby as I was struggling to decide and he agreed with the angles version more) So I stuck it all down and added the journaling. I didn’t add another title as the photo has some wording on it already. So job is a good’un!
This weekend is a busy one, filled with fun such as seeing friends … With little bit of crafting thrown in if I am lucky. So I prepped ahead and made this card during the week with some bits and pieces I had to hand … Just because I wanted to!
I used the fabulous Simply Sketched stamps and added the colour using the aqua painter and the inks. This has become my favourite technique of late. The aqua painter seems to be rarely out of my hands!
I also added a scrap of I am me dsp that coordinated with the colours of Calypso Coral and the Pear Pizazz I used for the leaves. I did plenty of inking to each panel too.
Apologies about the rubbish picture… For some reason my camera decided to blur every picture I took! No idea why and too late to try and work it out now!
Happy Monday everyone! Time to use that colour again!
This week we are playing with …
That’s right … The wrongly named Primrose Petals. When I think of primroses … I think of …
Maybe purple and yellow … But never PINK!
But hey oh! Whine over … Let’s see what I did with the incorrectly named Primrose Petals!
I decided to stamp up a background paper using some random French text stamps and some charcoal coloured ink that SU discontinued a few years ago. Then I added in some Primrose Petals elements such as the phrase and the hearts. These, along with the Mr and Mrs stamp I used, are from a Papermania stamp set I bought last summer from the craft shop (Creative Boutique) in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire. I then added the ink with a sponge to colour the whisper white, I love the fact then the paper becomes tonal version of the main stamping colour.
Next up the heart stamp is fussy cut from another piece of whisper white and layered up onto the text piece. I then mounted it onto some Basic grey cardstock and a piece of I am Me dsp that is basic grey chevrons. Then I wrapped the Love washi tape around the panel and layered up the heart feature stamp.
Next up some gems and a final layer of Primrose Petals to finish off!
Enjoying this colour challenge so far … Plus loving digging out stamps I don’t use very often and creating something different! This is what happens when you drag out all your crafting stuff as I am moving my craft stuff into the spare room and getting a desk for in there but at the moment everything is everywhere! But the plus side of this is that I find things I had forgotten about and the creative juices start flowing!
