Yes its fathers day so I have a card I made for the hubby… because although he’s not my father he is the best father I could have asked for to raise our princess with!
He is sci-fi mad so couldn’t resist using this digi image to create the focal image. Then teamed it with black and cream papers for a monochrome look with just the little pop of red on the astronaut! I added a little red heart to the flag to finish it off too!
On the visor and the heart I also added glossy accents to give it dimension and shine.
This weeks colour for my colour challenge I didn’t like very much/couldn’t really see me using it much but when I started using it I couldn’t stop … So much so I made three cards in the space of a week (at the beginning of August) … So sometimes you can misjudge a colour until you use it!
So without further ado… Happy Monday!
And my three cards for you …
I have loved this stamp of the steampunk snail ever since I saw it launched but never was in stock when ordering the other sets of Darcy’s stamps but finally I have it! And isn’t he the coolest! Use Acrylic Ink for the copper part and a mixture of inks for the body but mainly Hello Honey. The sentiment is a Darkroom Door one that I think works perfectly with the snail. I did the snail on an ATC so it could be taken from the card and kept. I used a stencil which I brushed the Ink through.
Next a card made for my 5yr old Great Nephew (still feel ancient writing that!). Decided on some funky robots in different colours and then use a border of Hello Honey and the same for the sentiment!
Ok this may be a slight cheat… Hello Honey used as a pop of colour to a black and white card! Ha ha!
Anyways… Loving this colour now!
Observant peeps may notice a lack of Thursday Treasures last week… I had a bad day and so no scrapping unfortunately. But I am back at it again! Whoop!
This time the colour scheme is a combo colour scheme! Thought that would mix it up a bit!
Quite a dramatic combo too!
I decided on some pics of the princess at the nail salon and to use Blackberry Bliss as the purple, with Modern medley as the DSP with plenty of funky patterns.
I wasn’t sure where to go with the layout so started with the Moments & Memories one as my reference just to make life easier… Plus I hadn’t done one for this month so thought I could combine the two challenges!
Of course I soon started changing the sketch around a bit, but I think it is still visible!
My main addition is the bottom layer (there was a slight error I had needed to chop off the original so a new base was required!) and also the texture paste which I scraped through a mask (SU circles and stripes) to create the circles. I love the look of this as the purple still comes through and they are obviously all a bit different!
So I hope it was worth the wait!
