A really quick card that I put together using scraps off the desk once again.
I made this card so quickly because I had already fussy cut the dsp flowers and the Art by Marlene collage paper was sitting on the desk ready for using!
These first few photos are taken in the evening when lighting is not great … skip to the bottom to see it in the light!
I used card Candi to embellish and those True Love dsp flowers are fab against that bright background!
Love this bright card with the black and white elements. Sentiment is in white embossing on the black with a tiny pop of the Parakeet Part my as a mount to the sentiment!
This last week has been busy and what’s more even when I had some time I could have crafted in, the hubby was using the chair in the craft room so it was too much effort to move things around to be able to craft. So today has been my first time of getting to the desk and getting crafty.
Now I am sure this isn’t just me, but when I’ve had a break it’s almost like I don’t know what to do so I always find it sit and stare at stuff a while and the first card I make is a bit of an oddity! And this is one of those cards.
It started by me grabbing the piece of Art by Marlene collage paper and sticking it to white cardstock, then a piece of the leftover sprayed paper from last weekends photography session (see last weekends blogs for explanation). I then created a sentiment and found an embossed sprig from the Natures Prints set already made and then some gold sequins!
As I say oddments … but I actually think it looks ok overall and I like the zingy colours.
And now I’ve got through the initial block on creativity I’m off and ready to create in a more thought through way … so I already know because it’s happened by the time I’m writing this post that two more projects have come together quite easily – one of which in particular I am super super happy with … but you will get to see those as an when I get round to writing them up.
So this next week … and probably the one after that … are likely to be just as busy but at least my hubby won’t need to borrow my chair anymore so if I do get some time I might get some more crafting done for you to see… but be warned there may be a few gaps as life gets in the way!
This time I went and grabbed the pouch of fussy cutting from the Paper Blooms dsp I did a few months ago and then set aside …
I used quite a few of the images I had fussy cut on a card I shared at the time but this time decided to choose all the pieces that were off the edge.
I adhered these to the edge of a panel of basic white onto which I stamped the sentiment (yes Biggest Wish came out to play again) I then added foam and added it to a panel I had dry embossed with Painted Texture. I decided to soften it with a border of wrapped bakers twine before then adding the focal pieces of the flower cluster and the leaf.
Love how this came out.
Inside the card I added two more of the off the edge pieces.
The challenge was a colour one to use Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Evening Evergreen. I was also inspired by a book fold challenge another crafty friend was running on Facebook.
So this is the card I made. Crumb Cake base, cherry Cobbler coloured dsp, Trimmings and Tidings.
Then die cut out the star and backed the opening with more of the same stash of dsp but with an Evening Evergreen colour. Crumb Cake fancy star die cut twice and stacked. Some twine for the top.
Stamped the sentiment from Colorado Craft Company and die cut it twice and then embossed the stacked die cut twice so its a nice chunky and shiny embellishment. Added some Cherry Cobbler ribbon on the side and some clear gems for finishing.
I printed off the image on Smoky Slate and then coloured it with my Prismacolour pencils and cut it out… so actually the fact it was a coloured cardstock base ended up making no difference!
I made quite a small (4×3) card this time so it’s really cute. I added some dsp with a green colour and then a panel of white. Then to finish off I die cut the blue Merry using the Tim Holtz dies. Finished off with the gems.
Cute and although the colouring took some time (and a some fiddling as the image is quite small) an easy card to make. There is a little bit of dimension as I raised up the main image and I stacked the merry die cut a couple of times.
I also added just a touch of sparkle with wink of Stella on the tree decorations and the gift trimmings.
Today blog is a card I made using some of the leftover pieces of the fabulous True Love dsp which I love.
I also used a background I made for another project and never got round to using. I love how this came out but I must admit that I got a little lost in the middle of making this. If you fancy watching me fumble around making this card, check it out on YouTube as once again I videoed making this card.
I love how the ribbon provides a nice border element in the background and the bold sentiment panel.
Really going to miss this paper when I’ve finished off the last bits as it’s been fabulous to play with.
Finished off the card with white Splendid Stems die cuts and the black matt gems.
I have another design team contribution for Creative Knockouts and this weeks theme is Christmas Delight.
I chose to use the Candy canes with bow image from Patties Creations which I printed off 9 times and then coloured them in green and red. Then I added them all over the background and then some panels of the Heartwarming Hugs dsp.
I then added a die cut label and the sentiment adding a few of the candy canes and the organza bow on the top. I then added some pearls to the top.
Hope you like what I made. I enjoyed fussy cutting those candy canes out and adding them.
I also added a little bit of decoration to the inside too.
Today is my lovely husbands birthday so I had to make a card for him of course.
I decided to go star themed and bright colours against the black and added in some pops of graphic dsp (the reverse of the True Love dsp) too.
This was lots of die cutting and stacking for the main sentiment and of course all the stars too. I added in a bit of sparkle with the die cut small stars from the glimmer paper too.
