Heffy Doodle, Paper Blooms

Patterned paper play

Hello February! And as its the first day of the month it is time to play with patterned paper. Like last month I actually prepped for this card quite a while ago by choosing a piece of dsp and going to town with fussy cutting!

This one ended up with a panel of the green and a pile of flowers (and of course a pile of rubbish.

So what to do with this… well I went for a funky green base and the fun Heffy Doodle sentiment die.

I decided to use a couple of strips of the flowers, one of which I raised up a little to give it some dimension.

I did stack the sentiment a little with 2 layers, and then added another flower onto the top!

I also added foam between the card base and the topper which gives a lovely finish.

Still got some flowers left in the pouch for another project or two. Really like this paper so good to get some use out of it!

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else makes with their patterned paper stash.

Happy crafting!

DT: Happy Little Stampers – Happy Birthday

I’m back for another design team contribution for the Happy Little Stampers Birthday anything goes challenge.

This time I went and grabbed the pouch of fussy cutting from the Paper Blooms dsp I did a few months ago and then set aside …

I used quite a few of the images I had fussy cut on a card I shared at the time but this time decided to choose all the pieces that were off the edge.

I adhered these to the edge of a panel of basic white onto which I stamped the sentiment (yes Biggest Wish came out to play again) I then added foam and added it to a panel I had dry embossed with Painted Texture. I decided to soften it with a border of wrapped bakers twine before then adding the focal pieces of the flower cluster and the leaf.

Love how this came out.

Inside the card I added two more of the off the edge pieces.

A cute and simple card.

Happy crafting!

DT: Creative Knockouts… anything goes

Hi!

How quickly the weeks go … how are we already mid August?

Well it is time for me to share another design team contribution, this time for Creative Knockouts where we have an Anything Goes challenge this week. There is a prize sponsored by Pretty Cute stamps so I encourage you to join in.

Here is the card I made…

I decided to have fun fussy cutting and using some old dsp …

This was a half sheet of 12×12 so it have me a big pile of fun flowers to use. I also had half a sheet of one of the other pieces of dsp from the pack so used some of that in the background and as a banner strip.

I decided to have a bit of texture with the chevron embossing folder and then the sentiment strip across the middle raised with the larger flower as the focal image. Of course I used the Biggest Wish stamp set again to do this … I really don’t know what I would do without this stamp set!

I added some of the smaller flower images around the card too and then added the panel to the right hand side of the card.

Inside I added one of the other flower images I had cut out.

Love this … it was actually quite relaxing doing all the fussy cutting and I still have lots left so will pop them in a little pouch so I can come back and use them on another project another time.

Happy crafting!

UK stampers forum tag swap

Hello! Hope you are having a good day and thanks for popping by to see my blog.

Today I have a tag I made for the UK stampers forum swap over on Facebook. I love making tags from bits and pieces I have on my desk and I decided to grab some of the flowers leftover from the card I shared a couple of days ago as the main images on this tag.

However the rules of the UK stampers forum is to include stamping so I grabbed the Tropical Hideaway background stamp and Parakeet Party to give this a fabulous stamped and bright background. I then added the fussy cut paper flowers.

Next to decide on a sentiment for the tag and this time I chose the saleabration set Amazing Phrasing and from that made my sentiment.

I did pop the Hey up on foam to give some dimension. Then I hunted through the ribbon box and chose this leftover ribbon which coordinated with the flowers. I decided to mount my tag on a slightly larger piece of the Petal Pink as it felt like it needed framing and this worked well.

I finished off with three sequins that are a dark iridescent navy colour.

Hopefully the swap recipient will like this bright and cheery tag!

DT: Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge

I have another one sheet wonder for my DT contribution for this months Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge blog. Think I may be close to the point of switching to Christmas themed ones … but for now I’m still working with pretty floral papers.

This one is a salabration set I got called paper Blooms that coordinates with the In Bloom stamps and Pierced Blooms dies. I love the Pierced Blooms dies so much..

I made 8 cards from this sheet of 12 x 12 … not a large amount but loved using both sides of the dsp so some got 2 panels not just one!

I also made one card as a fancy fold which was fun.

I also mixed up the size of the base cards to suit the sizes I had cut the panels so there were 5×5 cards and 6×4 cards.

I went to town in my box of scraps die cuts using flowers and leaves from a mix of sets…. Wreath Builder, Forever Flourishing, Pierced Blooms … and this is how I decorated them combined with various sentiments. In some like the above I combined stamp sets for the sentiment… Hello from Forever Fern and Friend from Lovely Inside and Out.

I also added either gems to flower centres or wink of Stella and glossy accents just add some extra texture.

Loved creating the little jar of flowers for this one using the Jar of Flowers stamp and then fussy cutting rather than punching the jar. So cute.

Also used the fabulous Happy Celebrations to create the sentiment for this one but then the one below chose the Happy from my fave stamp set of last Christmas, Peace and Joy.

I also loved adding the circles to the cards to create focal areas for the flower clusters to sit on.

So this final one is the fancy fold that my friend Valerie taught me to make.

Love how cool this is and makes a really special card.

Such fun working with these pretty papers and die cuts.

Hope you like them too.

Stampin Up Sunday… artist trading coins

This week for the Stampin up Sunday Post I am sharing the coins I made for this month over at UK Stampers Forum. I also have a Video showing how I made these.

Loved making the bouquets of flowers to sit in the vases. So cute!

Love these pierced blooms dies and the Lots to celebrate jar and punch (I can report for those that watch the video that I managed to fix the punch after I finished filming – phew!).

Stampin Up Sunday … Happy 15th Birthday Maya

Today is the 15th birthday of my baby girl! Boy do I feel old!

Anyway it’s a day for her (yes I know everyone else is doing mothering Sunday but mine has been postponed for a week!)… and so of course todays blog is her birthday card.

It was mainly SU products… admittedly the paper is saleabration so no longer available, not are the sentiments… but I think it still qualifies! 😄

I went a bit overboard but love how it came out! Paper Blooms dsp, Soft sea foam, Petal Pink and seaside spray cardstock all layered up with a bit of embossing and Pierced Blooms dies.

I added the Happy Celebrations stamping, some letter stickers for her name and foam stickers for the 15.

The focal image was from a Making Cards magazine that I thought worked nicely. Then finished off with pearls and some wink of Stella and a glossy accents on the crown.

Inside the card I used the off cuts of the dsp and stamped a sentiment from an old stamp set (Picture perfect birthday) which I thought worked well, and added more die cuts.

I ended up having to make an envelope as I didn’t have any big enough (it’s a 7×7 card). So I used some of the dsp, and leftover card. I stamped her name and then cut out the large flower from a piece of leftover dsp.

I also made a coordinating tag for on her gift…

So happy birthday to my gorgeous princess Maya xxx
