One sheet wonder

It has been a while since I did a one sheet wonder but I felt like having fun with paper and set to on this one sheet wonder project.

I tried to use up bits off the desk as I was building them after the initial cardstock mats etc. I built them up bit by bit too rather than just rushing in to get things stuck down.

So here was the starting point…

A piece of retired Stampin Up Tea for two dsp that I happen to love both sides of.

I teamed it with Early Espresso and old olive cardstock. The early espresso is also the coredinations cardstock so wonderful for distressing.

Next to start adding focal images…

A real hotchpotch of stuff going on… scraps of vellum, die cuts, images from magazine kits and embossing. I had so much fun popping images and scraps from the desk in with these.

So then I started assembling and decided I wanted sewing to feature on most with the quilted type paper as the inspiration. So I added machine stitching to most but not all and the started with the assembling and finishing off.

So I started with some images leftover from making cards magazine…

These first two don’t have any sewing but instead added some twine and ribbon. The next two however have sewing and the lovely cute images.

Now I move onto my fave stamp set… petal palette…

More die cutting and vellum and embossing and some pretty cards were created.

And finally three different cards … the gorgeous watercolour wings…

This one I created some inchies using the butterfly basics stamp set and heat embossed in clear the post script background stamp on the early espresso cardstock.

The last one uses a die of the white rabbit as a focal point. I adore this die and it was gifted to me by a kind friend… thanks M xxx

So there we have it… all of the cards from my one sheet wonder! Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did making them.

Such fun playing with this paper!

DT: Incy Wincy designs… 2 different creations

The theme over at Incy Wincy is Anything Goes.  We are sponsored by both Sasayaki Glitter digital stamps and DigiStamp Atelier and I couldn’t decide which to use so did two cards using an image from them both.

This first one is using the DigiStamp Atelier Mermaid 2.

I used random pieces of paper and the heart doily and die cut Polaroid frame with the glitter washi tape on the bottom layer. I then added th image, coloured with Promarkers and then added some stickles to add extra sparkle.

The other card I made uses the cute Bedtime teddy image from Sasayaki glitter digital stamps.

Again I coloured the image using Promarkers and then added some die cuts behind the image and a sentiment.   The patterned paper was from the stash.

Love both cards.

Scrap box challenge

Does everyone have a problem using up scraps of paper, or throwing them away, or is it just me? My scrap box gets out of control quite quickly, so a few weeks ago I started to clear it out and use some of the bits that had accumulated and were too small to save, but needed using and not just recycling.

Here is batch number two of said cards!

Bright and busy DSP lent itself to a simple card with the addition of a sentiment, a scrap of ribbon and the two cute butterflies!

Some more chevron ribbon, a punched sentiment, and a lovely stamped and water coloured flower from the classy Everything Eleanor stamp set. Perfect.

Another classy card. This time Four Frames to provide the sentiment frame, and a little bit of decoupage to finish off. Once again chevron ribbon is fab!

Back to the modern look, some cocktails and some texture from the embossing folder. And a different ribbon this time… Some scrap red silky ribbon.

Finally something a bit different again…

The Sunflower stamp, teamed with grungy papers and some print (First Edition) and the added splotches from Gorgeous Grunge. Fab!

Not bad for an hours play and using up scraps!

Happy crafting!

Thursday Treasures! Theme!

Theme time for this weeks Thursday Treasures!!!

Given it is the princesses 8th birthday tomorrow I couldn’t resist!!! After all we all must have a birthday photo or two to scrap!!! Now is the time! I chose one from last years birthday when Maya was all dressed up ready to go out to Manchester to see the Lion King in the Palace Theatre!

I had taken a picture and added a vintage photo effect to it before I printed it and decided to go for the vintage Tea for Two dsp and plenty of pink but kept it modern with the layout going for the funky sunburst style! Also added lots of Crumb cake distressing around the edges of papers too to keep with the vintage theme! Also added some ribbon strips, stickers and washi tape from the stash.

Happy crafting!

Thursday treasures! Prompt!

This weeks Thursday Treasures is a prompt!!!

So how you interpret it is upto you … Just think of “forever” and scrap what that might mean to you!

When I think of forever I immediately plumped for wedding photos as my hubby is my forever love! But when leafing through them, I spotted this picture of my princess entertaining us when we were trying to pose for pictures at our party… And decided that the title of the page would have to be Forever in our hearts.

I used a piece of Crumb cake cardstock, and then punched circles out of the First Edition & Tea for Two designer series paper as I thought they would work well together. I then made a circle from them and stuck them together. Next I used a little Baked Brown Sugar ink and a sponge to just meld them together a bit. Before I then added this to the page, I used the Everything Eleanor swirl stamped in a circle to the base cardstock.

Then I put down the circle of circles. Then I added some of the spots from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in both Crisp Canteloupe & Baked Brown Sugar. Then on pieces of Very vanilla I stamped the flowers from the Everything Eleanor stamp set in Baked Brown Sugar and then coloured it using the Aqua Painter (my new best friend) and the two ink colours.

I then stamped the panel for the title in the same colours.

I layered everything up and added glossy accents to the pollen parts for the flowers and then some liquid pearls added randomly. I added the journaling onto cream card and puts some blots on using the Gorgeous Grunge stamps.

Finally I finished with lots of stickers to create the title and the little words around the circle.

Loved reliving the memories of this day … Really need to do more of our wedding photos as never scrapped them before! Need to get an album just for them I think!

Have a friend popping over for a chat in a bit so best make myself presentable!

Happy crafting!
