This week I am actually off to the hospital for my 2nd jab tomorrow, but I did actually document the first jab in my 2021 junk journal.
I did this page quite quickly with the photos from the day and using the Lollipop Box Club kit from Feb…
I also added some bits of washi I had been sent on a swap, but I had kept for the purpose of using them on a page at some point… I love keeping bits and pieces like this and then finding a use for them.
I added some journalling on the back of the bits I added into the pocket I made from a kit bag. These include the not so pleasant side effects I ended up with from the vaccine…but I still was so happy to be getting the vaccine and to become part of the solution to moving on with our lives!
Now fingers crossed the 2nd jab doesn’t cause too many side effects tomorrow.
Today I am sharing the page I made in my Smile themed junk journal…. and it is based on coffee! After all coffee definitely helps bring a smile to my face every day!
I used Art by Marlene collage papers alongside the Lollipop Box Club kit for February 2021. And the coffee stamped image is a really old SU set I got rid of many years ago but still had one stamped image left which was perfect for adding to this page.
I had fun with adding paint and doodles and stickers… basically a lovely chilled out 20 mins creating the page.
I joined Lisa (Lollipop Box Club) for a Sunday afternoon craftalong on zoom and did three pages whilst people chatted and shared what they were upto. It was great fun. Lisa gave us two challenges…
The first one was a 30 min challenge where we had to use something bin worthy, 2 circles, have 3 places to journal and use no more than 4 colours (excluding black and white).
We were given 10 mins to grab stash and decide on our project. I went for my latest junk journal made with lots of different random papers off the desk in which I’ve decided to document trips in the UK. I grabbed papers and bits from the last Lollipop Box Club kit … including a scrap of fabric that otherwise would have ended up in the bin as too small to use.
I die cut circles from the paper, layered up the tissue and some papers onto the page… my colours were blue, green, yellow and Kraft.
I loved creating the two pockets for journalling tags… the small one and the large tag.
I hadn’t quite finished the tag decorating and journalling when the 30 mins was up but by the time we got to sharing it was all completely finished… and the glue on the sequins was dry! Result!
The 2nd challenge was a sketch provided by Korrieanncreations with some added bits… use string, stripes, stickers, staples.
For this I worked in my Christmas themed journal and documented my daughters first Christmas Dinner.
I didn’t quite follow the sketch exact… I didn’t add the bottom left cluster but loved what I did create. I also added the journalling into a little pocket on the left hand side which was extra. Love how the crochet trim from another page still works with this page too.
Finally… a third page just created whilst chatting…
This was back in the UK trip junk journal and again used bits from the last lollipop box club kit… I love those cameras on the paper… perfect for capturing the story of my daughter taking this picture.
All in all a lovely afternoon. So pleased I joined as I was close to chickening out as I didn’t know anyone but it was all friendly and felt really comfortable in everyone’s company.
Once again I picked up my altered ladybird book to do a journal page and the March Lollipop Box Club kit. I decided to document to pride I felt watching Maya doing her textiles gcse work … definitely fits in with the theme of things that make me smile!
I did video the process and so here is the link if you want to watch…
Today I have a page in my altered Ladybird book and I videoed the process this weekend as I made it. I mainly used supplies from the Lollipop Box Club kit which had just arrived and I couldn’t wait to dig in and start playing!
Not sure what I can day about this except… I really do enjoy this kind of memory keeping at the moment. It’s so quick and you can do so much more than when scrapbooking… and storing them is much easier!
Also really recommend Lollipop Box Club kits. I think they are great value for money and the products are so cute!
I am always super happy to receive Happy mail so I included some in this page in my Smile themed altered Lafybird Book journal…
I followed a couple of tutorials Lisa from Lollipop Box Kit had put on the patron group with pockets and faux stitching and incorporated them into these pages and then included tags and artwork from various swaps I’ve received over the years.
I also included the stamped Happy from Happy celebrations and the post stamp from Carrabelle to finish off the pages.
Today I am sharing a page I did in my Ladybird book, all about a lovely day out which always makes me smile… it was a day at the Salford quays, watching Strictly Confidential and then meeting Artem in pizza express… Best day ever!
I decided to use the page where the scrapbook paper insert was the background and grabbed my Lollipop Box Club kit to make the page.
The yellow background wasn’t the best tonal match for the quote card but decided to go with it and add in the pastel bits from the kit, like the green paper, pieces cut from the pink paper and some stickers.
I also added a bag from the kit to create an insert for my journalling.
I also added the black and white washi… love those touches of the black and white.
Love those papers and the little elements in the kit… such pretty pages.
I’ve got a few pages in my junk journal for 2021 to share with you.
First up a page documenting a trip to the new office. Admittedly it was only a quick visit to reception to collect a new laptop but still it was my first real visit inside and I love how modern and posh it looked. Lookong forward to the day when we can get in there to actually work for the day and use all the facilities.
I took two pics and got them printed off and created the flip up to fit both pics and the journalling. Used lots of bits of papers I had in the box of bits, plus some bits I received in the post that day (the yellow ombre was a card I received, the brown was part of an envelope).
Next up a simple page documenting the new logo for my blog… well why the heck not?
I may have told you this already…. I am OBSESSED with journalling at the moment and I’ve subscribed to the Lollipop Box Club so I get a box of goodies delivered each month. Well this week my first box has arrived and today I played with it… hence 2 blog posts today!
I filmed the unboxing, (link) and then put the box to one side. Today I brought it down to the table and made a start on creating a page in a handmade altered book journal (I will blog about creating this another day).
The theme for the journal is things that make me smile and so I decided to make a page about spending time with friends and feature a picture that came up in Facebook memories this week from 4 years ago. OK it hasn’t actually been this long since we spent time together… but it has certainly been a while! Ah well … it is what it is and hopefully before the end of the year we might be able to have a night together.
So I used supplies from the kit and added a couple of extra stickers and a stamped “friends” for the title and had a great time making this fun page, with such cute pastel colours. 😍
Love the box kit… so many fabulous goodies in it and I can imagine lots of fabulous pages and other things will get made using it.
