DT: CHNC: Use the word Christmas

Today I am late posting… mainly as I forgot which day of the week it was! Doh!

Card with polar bear and texture paste stars and sparkly gem band.

I made this card with the theme of use the word Christmas for the Craftyhazelnuts Christmas challenge blog.

I started with a piece of card and added texture paste through the stars stencil. Once dry I then added the colour using distress oxides, water and a brush.

Separately I stamped the polar bear and used promarkers to add shading. I then decided to add the frame beneath the bear which I coated with two colours of embossing powder.

Once everything was dried I glued together the layers and added the gem band which was a gifts with a swap.

I also added the sentiment.

Right that’s me for today.

DT: CHNC: Merry

Today the theme at CHNC is to include the word merry and I decided to go back to a style of card I made a few months ago but with a different image and fabric.

I love these fabric squares for making nice and easy backgrounds and adding the stamping onto fabric with the Hessian just finishes it off perfectly.

This time I chose the Santa stamp and coloured him using promarkers. I did my usual wonky sewing and then added the sentiment chipboard which of course included the Merry for the challenge.

DT: CHNC: the letter R

I am a bit late this week as I needed some daylight to take the picture of my card. Sorry!

The challenge Hazel gave us for this week’s Craftyhazelnuts Christmas challenge blog is the letter R.

I chose to add the lovely rabbit as my R to my card.

I coloured the bunny with promarkers and added fluff to the rabbits tail. I used scraps of patterned papers and embossed the sentiment in white with sequins as embellishments.

Simple and cute.

Now off to see what everyone else made for this week’s challenge and enjoy some blog hopping via CHNC.

Decorated tag

Today I have a tag I made for the UK stampers forum swap.

I chose to use some bright autumnal coloured paints as the bottom later and then sone crackle glaze with a grey paint on the top.

Then I added some stamping with the dictionary stamp.

I then decided to add the little Gorjuss girl stamp.

After cutting her out and colouring her, I decided to paper piece her dress from matching orange painted paper.

I added splashes of the Art Alchemy sparks paint to the background behind the girl and then added the sentiment and then some doodles of white paint pen.

I added sari ribbon to the top and decided it was finished.

DT: CHNC: something beginning with H

I decided for this week’s craftyhazelnuts Christmas challenge I would choose an image with Holly in it to cover the requirement Hazel set for us to include some thing beginning with H.

I chose this Turtle Dove image from Creative Stamping magazine and coloured it with promarkers.

Then I layered the image and the patterned paper with glitter washi tape and used a gold pen to edge it.

I then added it all to a green card blank.

DT: CHNC: JOY

Hello!

Saturday again… time for another CHNC challenge design team contribution. This week we have to include the word JOY in our creation. So here is what I made.

I absolutely love this cute snowballing couple and enjoyed colouring them with promarkers. I chose papers from the stash (a random selection of blues) and then used promarkers to colour both the mats for the focal image and the die cut word and the sticker sentiment. This was I knew that they worked with the image I coloured.

I also chose some light turquoise sequins to finish off.

The whole panel was the same size as the card front so there isn’t a white mat around the edge which is a bit different for me.

DT: CHNC: reindeer

Hazel chose the theme of reindeer for this week’s CHNC challenge and I was very torn on which reindeer to use for my card as I have so many different stamps to use. In the end I went very different and chose a modern and non traditional image and colour scheme.

Never seen a pink reindeer before… but hey why not? I think she looks fun, especially as with the wink of Stella on top she is all sparkly!

The reindeer and sentiment are both Woodware stamps and I added sequins to the paper to finish off the card.

DT: CHNC: snowflakes

Hazel set us the challenge of using snowflakes for the CHNC blog this week. So I chose snowflake paper, and added more snowflakes to it using stamps and white embossing powder.

I then added the main image of a Digital stamp I coloured using promarkers onto a band of darker green, with the sentiment and some sequins!

Love the little penguin. So cute.

So definitely went for a few snowflakes for this one!

Shaving foam postcard

This month I had fun with shaving foam to create a background for my postcard for the UK stampers forum swap.I chose this red and pink print I made using alcohol ink and the shaving foam. Then I stamped the Gorjuss Girl on to it.

I then paper pieced the girl onto separate card and glued it onto the card.

Next I added the edge stamping and the sentiment. Then I thought it needed sealing so it could go through the post. So I added three layers of clear embossing. Then mounted it onto navy cardstock.Love how this looks.

Happy crafting!
