Being inky and creating pretty stuff
I decided to join in this swap for the first time in a while and created 6 cute little bee inchies.
I stamped the bee using an Alpaca Pals stamp and then used promarkers to colour them in.
I also used a grey promarkers to add a frame and then some wink of Stella to the wings for shimmer.
Simple but sweet.

This month the theme at Postcard art swap was “red” so I created this postcard.
I used scraps of paper and painted cardstock that I adhered across the postcard base.
I edged the panel with black archival and then also distressed the top with some archival too to blend the background a little more.
Then I added the flower image (Alpaca Pals) which I stamped first onto the base and then also stamped and embossed onto the black cardstock and fussy cut out.
I added black wink of Stella to the flowers and called it done!
Simple and effective and a good use of scraps… think that’s three projects this month using scraps like this as a background.

I made this ATC using similar technique to the tag I shared yesterday… in fact the same stack of scraps was used.
I did however change it up quite a lot by coating the Whole ATC with the scraps and then blending distress ink over the top to change the colour.
Then I added one horizontal strip, along with some shimmery wallpaper scrap to give the bird something to sit on.
The bird is a new to me Alpaca Pals stamp which I embossed and then coloured using distress inks and water.
Really love how cute that bird is and can’t wait to use it again.
This ATC was a gift for someone I am doing a swap with called scrap my stash… we send each other a pile of our scraps and in return they send an ATC made using the scraps. Looking forward to seeing what they do with my scraps and what I get to play with in return.

A few days ago I shared a card for the Back to Basics and Beyond challenge blog where the challenge is to use a Spray.
Well once my hands were stained from one lot of Dylusions ink I might as well make another card!
This time I used the reds and pinks and yellows (it also had a little of the teal it picked up from a stencil!).
This time I used water to ghost the ink and create a subtle pattern in the background.
I then did some stamping using the Gummiapan text stamp, the Timeless Textures, the Be Crafty Banksy inspired stamp and some Alpaca Pals text stamps.
You can’t see it too well on the picture but I also sprayed the resist spray and added some embossing powder to it on one side through a stencil. It didn’t work out well but it adds some fun texture regardless.
I added lots of marks using black and white pens and I love this urban graphic themed card.

Hi!
Today’s blog is a design team contribution that I made at the very last minute and still have stained hands as a result.
The challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond is to Use a Spray and I’ve used my good but very messy Dylusions sprays!
So I started with a piece of card and a stencil and some cool colours of inks…
And I have no control using Dylusions so this saturated the card, bled under the stencil, and made the desk very messy!
But still a cool effect once dry. I did also try a little imprint of the stencil using the excess ink which was fun.
Next I used the white Dylusions ink and a different stencil.
This again puddles ink a little but some areas the circles were more defined.
I then added more yellow ink using a circle aperture to make it only in the centre.
I dried the cardstock and trimmed it down to become a card topper and then started stamping and doodling to create this card.
I used stanps from Alpaca Pals and a Tim Holtz die to finish off.
Love how this looks.
The variance in colour in the background and the subtle patterns are really cool.

Last month for the Uk stampers forum I made this postcard.
I really wanted to use the Tracey Day Alpaca Pals stamps again but this time used all the elements type stamps, the sentiments and the hearts rather than the cute animals.
As my focal image I chose a Badass artchick stamp instead which I stamped and embossed on bookprint and added a little watercoloured ink.
The background was a blend of Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio distress ink and the stamping was a mix of different archival and distress inks.
Super happy with this.

The theme this month for our postcard art swap Facebook group was to Use something you hadn’t used before… so i decided to use a new stamp set and a stencil I have had for a long time but never used before… and this is the end result.
The little elephant turning back the layer is from Tracey Dey Alpaca pals stamps and I’ve been admiring these stamps for ages and finally got my hands on a couple of sets… so so cute!
The stencil was a cheap one I got part of a set and thought it was time to ink through this one.
Cute?!? Well I think so!
