Party time! Gifts galore for gorjuss girls!

So the weekend passed in a bit of a blur… 8 girls sleeping over (not much sleep was had I must say for a sleepover!)… To celebrate the 9th birthday of my princess!  Yes my hubby and I are insane!  Not sure we will be repeating that any time soon!  The important thing was that the princess enjoyed her party!

Several weeks ago I shared some pics of the princess and I crafting together to decorate some party bags!

Here are the finished bags….

Also I made some of the gifts for in the bags… I kept to the Gorjuss Girl themes!

Firstly door hangers…

Then some bookmarks…

I also bought some notepads and pencils from the gorjuss range.

Of course the obligatory sweets and a chocolate or two were added to the mix as well!

All in all, a lot of the gorjuss going on!

I am also entering this for the anything goes challenge at Craft your passion challenge blog.

Happy crafting!

Playing with my colours again!

A few months ago I started making colour charts in a little sketch book for all my ink pads… Here is the link. Then I did something similar with my Promarkers in a journal … Again here is the link… So now I have started on some of my other mediums…

First up my Inktense pencils. I coloured little swatches in and washed them with water, then punched out butterflies and adhered them into the book with the names and codes next to them. I then stamped a Swallowtail and some of the bricks Darcy designed and coloured and painted them in using the Inktense for the “cover” page.

Next I moved onto the Spectrum Noir Pencils which I got in the 3 for 2 offer at Hobbycraft fairly recently. I decided for these to stamp a little banner from Banner Blast colour it in, add the pencil colour number, and then punch out with the small banner punch then adhere into the book. But then I also created a little theme for each collection of colours using the fabulous stamps Darcy has created! The fabulous Steampunk snail, an Industrial Butterfly and cogs and the trailing heart vines (my favourite and possibly most used stamp Darcy has created so far… Although the new heart flower is coming up as a close second!).

It’s such a good way to test out the mediums and also have a play with a pretty result at the end… And a nice way to look at the colours so you know what the end result may be when you put them to use.

Colour my Monday! Real Red!

Happy Monday one and all!

Time to get all real and nice and BRIGHT!

20130919-193355.jpg

Ok I confess I made this card ages ago and thought I would keep it ready to share when I reached Real red in the Colour My Monday challenge. It was a card I made for my youngest great nephew’s 1st birthday… And I chose Make a Monster for the stamp set as he is a real cheeky monster!

20140727-134005-49205695.jpg

I used Postively Chevron to stamp the background paper, and then used the colour combo of Gumball Green, Pacific Point & Elegant Eggplant to stamp both the banners for bunting and the little monsters! Of course I had to add the googlie eyes to finish it off!

Thursday Treasures! photo prompt!

A late post this week so I thought I would cut straight to the quick this time with a photo prompt!

20130916-233122.jpg
I spotted this gorgeous cake picture on Pinterest just by chance and figured it was so beautiful I could use it as a Thursday Treasures photo prompt…

I wonder how it will inspire you?

For me it is of course the only tea party that really counts… The mad hatters tea party of course! So I grabbed a picture the princess insisted on being taken of her, the dormouse and the teapot and set to!

I used the fabulous Confetti Celebrations DSP as it’s bright and wacky and create this page without any sketch for a change. I usually have a sketch to hand via Pinterest but occasionally, it’s dictated by the colours I want to use the papers and cardstock I have to hand … This is one such page.

20140711-225022-82222438.jpg

I decided to use the teapot stamp from a random set I’ve had for ages from a magazine and stamped it all across the page in Strawberry slush. I also stamped one more on Whisper White, fussy cut it out, and then I added some glossy accents to this to glaze it. Next I added a bit of additional colour to the teapots with the ink and my watercolour brush.

All the DSP was matted with a layer of cardstock in coordinating colours and then doodled around the edge of the layers with my trusty white gel pen. I also added a bit of bunting made from the Pennant Parade stamps and the pennant punch. There were a couple of banners from the Banner Blast stamp set punched out. I also used the Stripes stamp to put the lines in for the journalling panel.

Sorry it’s a rubbish pic… Will need to upload a better one when I get a moment. But hopefully you can see what I did with the inspiration… And now I want tea and cake myself!

Happy crafting!

Thursday Treasures! Theme time!

This week we have a theme to be let loose on … This is pretty broad and could be interpreted so many ways!

20130730-184020.jpg
This is what I did with it!

20140226-231823.jpg

Can you believe I actually started this page in February at a crop and never got round to finishing it? Well when I decided on the prompt it gave me the perfect push to finish it!

This is a picture of me, aged about 8, on the last day of our family holiday in Menorca, looking miserable as sin at the prospect of the holiday ending! I really was fed up!

I remember these holidays on Menorca with such fond memories and have always liked this picture as an honest capture of me at the time. The picture itself has some colour fades as it was up in a frame as part of a collage my parents had of holiday hoots for many years … So it really is a well loved picture and is a good capture of me as a child!

So as I said I started this layout at a crop in February, then it got put away to be finished another day and in the midst of moving the spare room around and making a craft space it got left!

The dsp is a random one I got in a kit a while ago, and the layout itself was based on a pin I now can’t find. I used a few bits and pieces to decorate the page …
Some framelits dies which Helen had to create the arrows and the little camera embellishment
Off the Grid stamp to give the arrows some colour
Angled corner tag punch for the tags
Hardwood stamp for the texture on the tags
Banner Blast stamps and coordinating punch for the pennants
Stickers from random bits of stash and lots of bits of bakers twine!

All the journalling is hidden on the back of the tags which are kept in the pocket behind the picture panel.

Love this bright page, which picks up on the colours in the photo and contrasts the sad face of childhood when the joy of the holiday comes to an end!

Thursday Treasures! Colour scheme!

Thursday comes round so quickly doesn’t it!!!

This week is colour scheme week!!!

Here goes …

20130623-170434.jpg

I love blue … It really is my favourite colour!!!

20140126-175027.jpg

I created this page whilst at a crop my friend Helen runs in January but never got round to posting it. I did however think it was perfect for this challenge as I used Marina Mist as the base colour for the page. The great thing about going to Helen’s crop is that I get to try out some new stamp sets I haven’t bought yet… Of course this usually means I then need the stamp sets I try! In fact the use of both Tape It and Banner blast did result in ordering them that very afternoon I loved them so much on this layout.

Helen had quite a few alpha stamp sets available too. Now these are a considered purchase so didn’t make it onto the order list for this month … But I have to admit I love these alphas so I might have to consider them for a future order!

I did use some of my things though!!! The fab Simply Stars stamps, and some papers and stickers I got especially for the disney scrapping! It is from Simple Stories and is called Say cheese and has Mickey themed stickers to go with the papers. I love it! I teamed the Cherry cobbler and Basic Grey cardstock and coloured ink with the paper.

The layout I based on this page I pinned on Pinterest and then drew the sketch from.

Hope you like what I did with the page.

Happy crafting!

Thursday Treasures! Prompt time

Afternoon all! Time for a Thursday Treasures post!

20140126-191104.jpg

This weeks prompt I decided to tackle whilst at Helen’s crop a week or so ago. The great news about that was the ability to play with bits and pieces I don’t own myself and give them a good try out! This is exactly what this layout is full of!

20140126-192903.jpg

In fact the only thing I used on here that I own would be the Language of Love stamps and of course the paper and inks!

My magic had, of course, to come from Disney and I chose the moment caught on camera by the princess, of the hubby and I re-enacting the kiss in Sleeping Beauty in front of the fabulous stained glass window! Then I filled the page with lots and lots of hearts. Of Helen’s stock I used … Love you More, Hearts a Flutter, Heart to Heart punch and plenty of alpha stamps! I also used Label Love and the coordinating Artisan Label Punch to add the best friend label.

Love how this came out… Oh and I have forgotten to mention the last item of Helen’s that I used … The fabulous Angled Tag punch. Now when I saw these in the catalogue I wasn’t sure … Now I NEED this … So no doubt this will be added to another order soon! Lol!

Layout came from a page I pinned on Pinterest here. I am loving using Pinterest in this way. Makes me think differently about how I scrap pictures and I usually end up making more of an effort as a result!

Happy crafting!
