Three Heart ATCs (241-243)

Here are the three ATCs I made from some scraps and some punched hearts I received in a swap.  I filmed the process… Here is the link to the YouTube video

Really pleased with how these came out.

Always a challenge to just use a few supplies and come up with something a bit different. In fact that gives me an idea for a challenge… just using the bits and bobs left on my desk to create stuff… will have to find a spare hour and get something sorted!

ATC swap… July … Summer

Today I went back to work after about 7 weeks off sick. I can’t say that I was looking forward to getting in but my team made it easy for me to adjust to work again.

Anyway… As back at work I have a catch up post for you!

Last month I shared with you my Birds ATC’s made for a swap amongst friends… This months theme is Summer … And although the swap was for July I actually made these in June as I enjoyed making the June ones so much I was inspired!

I started in much the same fashion, with using a playing card as a template onto watercolour paper, and some watercolour paints… But this time a sunny yellow sun!

… Well ok, more of a sunny yellow corner!!!

As I was doing this, I was losing confidence in my watercolouring skills … Mainly due to the tools I had to hand, so when I got back to my desk, I grabbed stamps instead!

Out came the fabulous hello Doily stamp, and some Daffodil Delight ink… And a pretty patterned sun was born!

I added the random summer word stamping along the bottom in the Calypso Coral and cut out the little topper.

Next to think about a base. I decided on this fabulous Gumball Green patterned paper from Print Poetry DSP stack which I have had for a while and not touched!

I thought the addition of the washi tape also added a little more to the topper. Then to choose the feature. Well flowers are always fun, but though rather than plumping for my current favourite flowers … Petite petals … I would use the ones from Language of Friendship with the Boho Blossoms punch as I rarely use these and they are cute. I also punched the leaves with the Builder Bird punch.

I finished off with a dot of stickles for the flowers and then mounted them onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock and rounded the corners (& of course added the ATC stamp on the back for the title).

The next months theme is time so going to try different techniques this month… No watercolour paper in sight!

Happy crafting!

Everyday Flexible Phrases, Hip Hip Horrah!, HOTP, Simply Created card kits

Hip hip Horrah! Made festive!

My lovely talented friend Helen ran a class using the Hip Hip Horrah simply created card kit and I wasn’t able to attend, but did enter a little competition she ran on her Facebook page and won the kit! Woo hoo! And incredibly generous of her! Look at the lovely set of stash!

However the cards that SU designed, although cute, we’re not really what I wanted to make so I decided to make a set of Christmas cards instead! Yes that’s right … This cheery summery set ended up Christmassy!

Taking a picture of the finished designs proved a little difficult so good luck seeing everything!

Then I selected some of the ones that are my favorites that I made for you to have a closer look. I used some random HOTP stamps I got in a freebie for most of them, with some additional word stamps!

Leftover from the kit are still a lot of arrow stickers which I wanted to save for scrap booking projects and a couple of the speech bubble stickers again I saved for other projects. I also haven’t used the stamps, paper clip and twine embellishments. I did however add some rhinestone gems to most cards …. Have to have some bling!

I think because I am not so good at following instructions this is a good way of me using these fabulous card kits! Plus I get more out of the kit as I still have bits and pieces to use!

Happy crafting!
