Background stamp class

Last Tuesday I hosted a crafting session at my house where the focus was on background stamps.

I designed four cards using different background stamps.

1. HARDWOOD

This is a perfect design for any woodgrain stamps and I love this Hardwood stamp from Stampin Up. I masked part of the background and then added another colour cardstock for the raised panel.  I then used the Awesomely Artistic set to embellish and then an old sentiment stamp.

2. POSTSCRIPT

An old but still very good technique of triple time stamping. This time using the Postscript stamp and a mix of colour inks.

I used a mix of Sweet sugarplum, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig to ink up the stamp and then Fresh Fig for the mounting card. I then added the die cut swirl and stitched framelit before adding the Watercolour wings butterfly using the same colours.

The sentiment was embossed just to make it pop!

3. BURLAP

This time I grabbed the gelli plate and Distress oxides to add the fun background for this card.

Using one colour of the oxide for the first print with some water and then added the burlap to it for the second layer created a nice rustic but imperfect print.

I then added stamping for the glasses and then created the tag using the new Half Full stamp set from the autumn winter SU catalogue.

4. HANDCRAFTED

This is a retired stamp but I love it, especially for stamping with Brushos. I created a palette on my craft mat and then stamped into it and then straight onto the card blank. I love the mix of the colours and the watery stamped effect.

I then mopped up the remaining colour and die cut that using the Swirly Scribbles thinlits.  I also stamped and die cut the Beautiful You inage with the stitched framelits and added colour with some brusho. I edged panel and the sentiment with some purple from a blending tool.

So four different background stamps each used differently to create some fun cards.

Happy anniversary dearest hubby

Today my hubby and I celebrate 10 years of marriage.  Yes 10 years ago we made our vows and I can honestly say the time has flown!

So without getting all soppy about how much I love him (lots!) … here is the card I made.

I used brushos and the handcarved stamp to make the background and then stamping using quite a few different stamps.  I heat embossed the hearts down one side to provide some different textures.

The cassette was from a freebie set with Creative Stamping magazine. And I love the little sentiment to stamp across the tape.

So happy anniversary to my soul mate… here’s to the next 10 years!

Happy crafting!

PA quick card for a friend

Made a quick card using scraps off the desk.

First a piece of background using Brushos to stamp the Handcarved background.

The heart was stamped from a distress oxide background and then added gold pen to the screw heads.

I then added another strip of the distress oxide background and then a piece of black cardstock.

A cute little card and a good way of using up some of the scraps on the desk.

Happy crafting!

Brusho swaps! #131 – #133

I’m participating in another swap! This time it’s a Facebook group which focuses on Brushos and pigment powders. The theme for the swap is Spring.

I started with this one…

I used the Brushos to sprinkle through a stencil. This was Gamboge and Lemon.

I finished it with a simple silhouette stamp and a quote.

Next I used Brushos to stamp the background. I love the way this works and the watercolour effect of the stamping.  I finished with a Totally Trees stamps and then a bit of water colouring.

Now a background using the Brushos and then coloured in the stamped image using Brushos too!

Love how all of these came out.

Happy crafting!

More distress oxide playing

And another YouTube video done!

Feeling more confident with the app to edit the video now and hopefully this makes sense.

And here are pics of what I made at the end of the video

Not quite got round to sticking the last one down yet and think it needs a layer of something before I do.

Anyways … check out the video to see how I made these and if you enjoy it, give it a thumbs up!

Happy crafting!
