Face postcard for Pat

This month at Postcard art swap group the theme was FACE. I made this postcard using Art By Marlene die cut for the focal image.

I decided to make my own background for the card using linen cardstock and distress stains for the base, and then lots and lots of stamping using stamps I bought in a sale recently from another crafty friend who was reducing her stash!

I then added washi tape and some strips of the Tim Holtz tissue collage paper.

Next I used modelling paste through a stencil. Love the puffy look this ended up with as I heated it with the heat gun.

Once it was dry I added the face and some strips which were from the top part of the body but I turned into little embellishments.

I doodled around the edges and added shading to the image so that I had some depth and felt part of the artwork. I also added glossy accents to the circles on the strips I added. Oh also some glossy accents on the heart on the face I think!

Finally I stamped the title sentiment and added that, again with a border and edging it so it felt part of the artwork.

I then mounted it onto the while postcard base I had made as I always like it to be at least 2 layers of cardstock for posting if I can.

Love how fun this turned out.

Happy crafting!

Testing out my new stamps

My friend Chris who is an amazing artist and has the biggest amount of amazing stash, did some clearing out so I bought some bargain stamps from her. I decided to make a card to thank her for the RAK I got and also to say hi… and it gave me a good reason to try out the new to me stamps.

I used a mix of Indigo Blu and Paperartsy stamps and used the amazing vintage journal ephemera pack she sent as a rak to make this card.

I also added die cut butterfly and some lace from my stash.

Love all the layers and different stamping I added to this … even if I did cover most of it with the ephemera collage 😄

Hope Chris likes what I made.

Happy crafting!
