Christmas in August… the final one

Ok I might not have taken photos of all the cards I made for my parents but over the last two weeks I’ve been sharing some designs of the cards I made all over the course of one weekend… And they must have all been pretty simple as I managed to make 50 cards in total (plus a few birthday cards as well).  Here is the last one.

I kept it simple with the sentiment and snowflakes and robin stamped in Black soot distress oxide onto the card blank and then a simple addition of some glitter for the robins scarf. Cute!

And that is me finished with Christmas in August.  Will probably now not touch the Christmas stash for a few weeks before I start my Christmas cards in earnest so enjoy the break. Will be back to some art journaling tomorrow which will make a nice change.

Happy crafting!

Two sheet wonder continued

Yesterday I shared the first part of the two sheet wonder I made using these jazzy graphic papers.  Now time to share how I finished the others.

These four were all added to with the present from Santa’s Gifts… a Christmas set that can be used all year round for cute cards if you think carefully.

And these all had the flower from the Bliss set added.

This final one I kept simple as I thought the paper did enough.

Love how these all came out. Nice and jazzy and two sheets of dsp used up!

Use them or lose them #2 set 2 Santa’s Gifts

So this year I have decided to challenge myself to make a set of card, scrapbook page or journal layout using each of my stamp sets as I know I have some I rarely use!  Time to change that!

This week picked up Santa’s Gifts stamp set. I know christmas is over but it’s time to start on those cards already.

So I made three little cards choosing a different colour scheme for these than I’ve used before by choosing the Winter Frost dsp scraps as the background and Soft Sky for the cardstock. I also pulled out a bit of lace to make them fancier!

For all three I coloured the tree using the ink and a water brush and then a SU marker.

Love how pretty these are!

Defintely a keeper of a set!

Use them or lose them #2: Santa’s Gifts

So this year I have decided to challenge myself to make a set of cards, scrapbook page or journal layout using each of my stamp sets as I know I have some I rarely use!

Today I have some thank you cards I made using the Santa’s Gift stamp set.  Whilst these are christmas themed with the little Robin, they don’t have to be… so could be used for other occasions… I can see myself using the star a lot… plus the actual santa and rudolph stamps are super cute and perfect for kids christmas cards.  Anyway… the thank you cards I made…

I made three cards all the same… using small scraps from the box.

As they are black card blanks they need to have inserts.  I stamped the insert and the envelope to finish them off.

A little bit of colouring in is always fun too and these are so easy to colour.

Definitely in the keep pile!

Masks/Stencils, Santas Gifts

Grunge paste stars

Another of the cards I made with my friends on Monday night…

image

This time I used the new stamps I had got from Helen and stamped then masked the cute Santa from Santa’s gift.  Next I added the distress ink out from the santa to make a kind of halo and then added some black soot round the edge.

Then we used a Clarity stencil to add grunge paste stars as the frame.  We coloured santa and his present in later on when the grunge paste dried.

Helen used a different colour scheme for hers… a beautiful jewel purple.

And Mo chose a lovely serene green. (She has some colouring in to do for homework!)

Lovely crisp finish for the stencilling.
