Wow with Watercolour class

Hi

Tonight friends will be gathering at mine for a crafting session where the theme I chose was watercolour!   Now given I am not an art teacher nor do I know how to watercolour in the way you might be thinking…. I instead chose to add colour in a watery way… or use stamps designed to give a water colour appearance.

So here is what I have got prepped…

Watercolour wings with brushos and some embossing.

Watercolour words with some inky circles using a gelli plate.

Watercolour wash background stamp with a silhouette.

And finally…

A scrapbook page just for a change. Using the gelli plate to add the inky large circles and the circles from Happy Celebrations set which I applied ink to using the Stampin Write markers to keep with the sketchy look.

Hopefully we will get through these projects in no time at all… or at least get most of them done! Regardless I am sure we will have fun!

Happy crafting!

Serene Silhouettes ATCs 335 and 336

Hi there… I have two atcs to share that I made for a swap using the fab Serene Silhouettes stamps and the Happy Celebrations stamps to make some fun backgrounds.

I videoed making them here… So check out the process video.

And now for some closeups…

I love those stamps for adding some fun colour splashes in the background.

For ATC’S sake … 64 (who can’t see that number without singing?)

I have a single ATC to share today.

I grabbed a piece of paper that had some brayered paint on it and cut it down to a little smaller than ATC size as I wanted to mount it onto some silvered cardstock I had found. For once I had a bit of a plan before I started on this one!

I stamped some silhouette flowers and leaves onto the pink and blue background using black gesso.  As you can see I made a bit of a stamping faux pas and also caught the edge of the rubber in one impression but I knew it wouldn’t matter as the quote would go over the top of that and cover it up!

I also edged the piece with the black gesso.

Next I used a Seth Apter stamp and cut out the quote I wanted. I then positioned and added the quote with Matt medium.

Then I flicked silver paint over it.

I love that this worked out like it had in my head. Unusual for that to happen for me as I usually just go with the flow and rarely plan.

Another one in this challenge of 365 in 2017! 352 to go!

DT: Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge

Wow didn’t January just fly by? I was caught on the hop and only just got this card finished last night for the challenge over at Craftyhazelnuts patterned paper challenge blog… where the only rule is to use patterned paper. Well I certainly did that!

I had a delve in the box and came up with three pieces that went together reasonably well … all from different sources.  I then went for a delicate look to the card I made with white stamping and doodling.

Hope you like it.

Now pop over to the blog to check out how everyone else got on this month.

Happy crafting!

ATC based cards

Yes I am still going on about ATC’S! I am currently in an ATC obsessive mood so that’s all I seem to be able to create. I’m involved in a few swaps though and someone asked to trade with me through instagram so I also had to make a little card to go with the swaps…. so what did I start with … yes an ATC!

This one went to Sam who organised an impromptu ATC swap … love the addition of the acetate layer over the colour and texture on the ATC and then some washi tape to bring it all together!

This one is really just an ATC stuck on a card but this is going to India for a trade via Instagram. I used a little wooden frame that I got in some happy mail and then the Tim Holtz butterfly stamp.

So ATC’S are just fab and can easily be turned into card toppers too!

Results of playing with friends

Last night was art journaling class at my house and this time only three friends were able to come.  It was a shame others couldn’t come but it did mean it was a very relaxed play session for us.

The main aim was to use gelatos, but we also got to play with the brushos a little too before I handed them back (reluctantly) to Linda.

Here are the results…

These were all using gelatos and archival ink.

And everyone else’s creations…

I am still not 100% convinced that I need gelatos but they are fun to play with.  brushos on the other hand… Definitely on my birthday wish list!
