Today was a sad day to get through as it was the last day with Maria in my team. She is, under much duress from herself and the rest of us, being moved to do work for another team.
Anyway it was time to make a card to wish her well. Here is what I made for her…
I decided on a Brushos JOFY stamped image and to then edge each panel with black pen. Next a bit of embellishing with some fancy trim, a patterned doily and feather. I used the little panel stamped from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set. Finally some patterned paper and some little black gems.
And here is the planter we bought her to remind her of us!
Fortunately Maria liked the card… now we have to face the next few weeks without her with us on a daily basis.
… when you tidy up and have clear outs isn’t it?
I found some stamps I hadn’t used in a long time so decided to make some quick and simple cards. This is one of the cards I made… the others I will share over the next few days.
The image and sentiment are stamps from the set I’ve had for donkeys years but not used in a long time. I stamped the figures then masked her (that was some fiddly cutting of post it notes I can tell you!). Then I used Gorgeous Grunge stamp to add the blackberry bliss background splodge. I then found a smaller splatter in my Awesomely Artistic set and added that using Perfect plum. This gave some appearance of depth.
Then I used promarkers to colour her in and a black marker to add the edge (faux mat). Finally I added some gems that were black, grey and silver.
Love how it turned out.
Now this is just a travesty… I have had the Awesomely artistic stamp set from SU for a few weeks and hadn’t even applied ink once…. time to put that right!
I started with inking a panel of cardstock… Worn Lipstick and Dusty Concord, making sure I did a smooth job of blending. Then sprinkled some water, let it react and blotted the ink away.
Then I stamped the dragon fly, flowers and sentiment all using the Dusty Concord. I then added a little more ink to the flowers using a water brush.
Next I added it to a card blank… Done and dusted! Want to see? Go on then!
Simple but pretty awesome?
