Happy Monday everyone!
Time for some colour … Well I say that but the colour this week is probably the wishiest washiest colour in the SU collection … No surprise it is in the SUBTLE collection then!
This is definitely not one of my favourites …. But it does have its uses!
This pink thing is becoming an issue in our house now as the princess has decided in the last few months that she doesn’t like pink …. After loving everything pink for years! I don’t have an issue with this… Except clearly I can’t afford to go and rebuy a whole load of stuff just because she no longer likes the colour! Ha ha!
But I still like to make pink girlie cards for her friends regardless! Not that girl cards have to be pink… My favourite colour is blue for example, but sometimes pink dresses are the best!
A Gorjuss girl, coloured with SU write markers, with a Pink Pirouette dress! Perfect! I then teamed it with a panel stamped with the Soft Sky Hello, Doily and another panel where I added some of the pink using the acrylic block watercolour technique. Added a little tag for the sentiment and some bits of blue ribbon to break it up… Perfect girlie card!
Happy Monday World! Well the part of the world that read my blog anyways!
Colour time! I am really enjoying this weekly challenge to focus on colour! It is time for a REGAL colour this week…
Now this is not a colour I have used much… Mainly as I don’t own the actual ink colour, but also as rustic colours are just not really my thing! But, a couple of months ago, Helen used this colour in a class I had the kit for, but had never got round to doing the class as per her instructions … Partly as at the time I didn’t have the stamps for the specific class! Anyways, in the kit for one card was some Cajun Craze cardstock, so I grabbed that and set to work on creating something for this challenge instead.
Helen had also included a bit of the gold foil cardstock, so I embossed this first with the Square Lattice folder and then sanded it back to show some white through.
Next I inked the cardstock using the Chocolate Chip ink and a sponge to give it a nice even edge of ink. Then I took the small pieces of Very Vanilla and inked them too in Crumb cake and added some distressing with the Gorgeous Grunge and Woodgrain stamps. Then I stamped some of the cute Petite Petals flowers in a mixture of Crumb Cake and Gold Encore pigment ink. To these I added the candy dots in the Cajun Craze. Next up the sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip and inked and grunge with the dots stamp from Gorgeous Grunge. I used the Decorative label punch to create the little label for this.
Finally a bit of trim in Baked Brown Sugar to finish off!
Love this finished card. It is so different from the style I would normally choose, and this is because the colour is out of my comfort zone, but this is what the challenge is about I suppose… To break me out of doing the same things over and over!
