Making Cards magazine catitude set

I obsessively watch YouTube videos where the artist takes a subscription stamp set like the ones from Simon says stamp or Hero Arts, and makes 10 cards. I would love to have those subscriptions but given they cost around $40 and then add on the additional $15 for postage to the UK it’s not going to happen!

So as I do have a monthly subscription to Making Cards magazine and this month there are some stamps in the kit… I did my own video… but as you will see it’s a long one! Lol! Think if I was to do it again it would have to be in two parts.

Anyways… the cards I made.

A simple stamped one to make my own patterned paper using the stamps.

Using the bright paper and a stencil to make the focal image pop.

A floating image using acetate and the fun paper. You will have to watch the video to see what a mess I made of this when making it! Lol.

This time one of the fab and funky motivational type pieces with the patterned paper and some embossed card and a flower.

A fresco finish painty background and simple die cutting of the paper and card. Love this bright and cheery background.

Another simple exercise of cutting and sticking. Love this cute stretching cat!

And more paper pieces and fun patterns. Added clear embossing to the sentiment to give it shine and texture and love the little bit of vellum too.

Love the oxide background with the white embossed cats … even if the Whisper white is the wrong paper entirely for adding water based mediums to! And those blobs of enamel accents were a pain to get right!

Added some stamping of the Marvled background stamp to this … I thought it was the perfect touch with this quote panel.

Quirky cats mean a quirkly placed focal images! Love this fun card and the cut out chevrons.

So I have loads of the papers left but figured 10 cards was enough given the video was already ridiculously long!

Sorry about the shadows from the window frame but here they all are!

Let me know if you enjoyed this different crafting adventure. Oh and I have to also leave you with my hubbys version of a crafting video… He was slightly drunk and wouldn’t stop interrupting me video until he had done his own version! Just love the sound of the princess and her friend laughing at him!

Happy crafting!

Happy birthday Eleanor

My cousins little girl turned 5 earlier last month but I’ve only just managed to get the card and present to her. I really am rubbish at posting things out! Here is the card I made for her.

She is a girly girl so it was nice to pull out the pretty colours and gorjuss girl stamp to make this.

I used the fabulous Marbled stamp to create the background paper using Crisp cantaloupe. The embossed paper was gifted me in a swap and I just added a little of the ink with a blending tool to tone it in with the background. I added a stitched circle die cut too that I blended the ink onto lightly.

Then I coloured the girl in with promarkers and added some copper thread behind her. I then die cut the sentiment from the copper foil sheet.

Love how this came out. I chose three sequins to add the necessary bling!

And a positive coming from the lateness of me passing over the cars is that this qualifies for the “lots of layers” challenge at Always fun challenges blog.

Happy crafting!

I made a card… whoop!

Ok so the title of the post is a little uninspired… but given how I still feel pretty grotty it is the best I can do!

I managed a while in the craft room though and made a card. I had no plan and just set my camera to record and this is what I came up with…

Loving the marbled background (so elegant) and the ombre Happy and then the shimmery die cut dragonfly.  Such fun!

Enjoy watching my jabbering on video here!

Happy crafting!
