My lovely Daddy turned 70 today!
Yes this young fella…
… seventy years old!
Here is the card I made for him!
Plenty of stamping and inking and embossing and washi tape fun!
Happy birthday Dad. Love you loads.
My mum and dad ask me to make most of their cards, and this is one such card… For my cousin, whose birthday was earlier this week!
I used fabulous Indigo Blu stamps that came with a magazine earlier in the year, and the Sanded stamp which I love! Also added the Itty bitty banners sentiment.
Then I decorated the envelope with the matching butterfly stamp.
Happy Monday everyone … Scratch that … Happy Bank Holiday Monday! Oh yes … I do love a bank holiday!
Monday’s are my colour play days… And even though it is a bank holiday I still have some colour to share! This week I have gone for a SUBTLE one … Lovely and relaxing this one…
A lovely blue which to me reminds me of the sky on a lovely spring morning! Having said that I went for a Christmas card … So maybe also the sky on a clear frosty morning too!
I was actually using the sketch from Tinsel Tuesday as I hadn’t got round to making any this month yet… Go check out the sketch here.
I started with the linen cardstock and stamped the beautiful Ornament Keepsakes bauble in the Marina Mist. I decided to handcut it out as was being lazy and not getting the Big Shot out … Silly because when I then created the three strips behind the bauble I decided to emboss them so I got it out anyway! Doh!
The strips were embossed with a random snowflake folder I’ve got, and then edged with the same colour blue. I then took another piece of linen cardstock and stamped the Sanded background stamp on it in the same colour and edged the piece with blue again.
I mounted this onto the card, and then decided that I needed a sentiment, so grabbed some new Papermania ones I got as a bargain and stamped it onto a strip, which I edged and then placed on the card. Finishing touch… A bit of bling!
Love how this came together… Beautiful, subtle and calming card!
Ok it is official … I find starting the month on a Tuesday a little disconcerting because I forget about Tinsel Tuesday until the start of the month, then look for the first Tuesday only to find it is already upon me! Grrrrr! Ah well… Sketch was at the ready …
And cards well to be honest I loved making them! Which bearing in mind I haven’t for the last two months (yes skipped June and May completely!)
I used a Paperartsy stamp from the stash for the main image, but also added some freebie HOTP edge stamp and the Sanded SU background stamp to make it even more grungy an image. Then I added the HOTP sentiment in black. I decided to team the Real red with the Basic Grey and black to make it quite dramatic, and then the modern dotty washi tape was a little pop I thought contrasted nicely. I love the word embossing folder and I did plenty of inking to define each layer. I also added the Claritystamps snowflake corner to the bottom layer of Basic Grey.
I also used some of the Festival of Prints dsp stack from a couple of years ago and then the Argyle embossing folder to add texture to the vertical strip. I also added a black thin ribbon to finish it off. There are also some bit of stamping on the matting layers too, like the Claritystamps holly corner and the Sanded SU background stamp. These little touches finish it off brilliantly.
Hope you like what I did with the sketch this month. Let me know if you manage to join in. I love seeing what people make.
Happy Monday everyone!
Time to be all NEUTRAL and dream of beaches!
As this is such a pale colour I decided to focus on the background for this colour rather than the feature stamp. So it was time to dig out the amazing Sanded background stamp which retired a couple of years ago!
I also spent time inking the pieces, but otherwise I used a combination of Crumb Cake & Chocolate Chip to create the simple but hopefully elegant sympathy card.
