Being inky and creating pretty stuff
Last month it was one of the princess’ friends birthdays… so another card made, but i forgot to share it till now!
This time I used Making Cards magazine papers and an image of this cute unicorn to make up the card.
I also used a die cut border and the glittery foam flowers I had been gifted in a swap… they have been very handy so very much appreciated.
I also added a stamped sentiment from the Sunshine and Rainbows stamp set.
A really cute card for 13 year old Hannah!

Today I have the three rainbow ATCs I made for UK Stampers Forum swap.
I started with gelli printing a rainbow blend of colours onto book print.
And then I added stencilling.
Then I used the rainbow stencil from Aall and create and black gesso.
Next I cut some card to the right size for ATCs and added it to the back of the prints. Once the glue dried I cut them down.
Then I stamped the sentiment from Sunshine and Rainbows stamp set and edged each one with black.
Done and dusted!

I made another three coins with the Pebeo fantasy paints although this time I added a layer of sparks paint and some texture paste first as I wanted to see how that interacted with the fantasy paints.
Once dry I started adding the paint…
First the red in the centre and then the apricot on the spokes going out…
I then left them to dry … again this stuff takes ages to dry so it was good to leave it for a couple of days to make sure it was completely set.
Added some gold pen doodles and accents to the texture and pattern. Then added a layer of clear embossing to add even more shine!
Next I added the focal image…
Sun images stamped and embossed. Then I diecut them and added them to a punched circle of glimmer paper. And then stamped and added the sentiment with some glossy accents on the top to add even more shine!

Hello… my that fortnight went by quickly and it’s time for a new challenge at the Back to Basics and Beyond challenge blog.
This fortnight it is using a sketch to create a card…. and here is the sketch…
I fancied using my gelliplate to create a background and had an urge to add a rainbow onto it so here is what I made.
So I created the first square in the background using my gelli plate mini and soft sky ink.
Then I did a similar technique once it was dry but with the acrylic block to create a slightly darker square. I outlined both of these with a silver pen to add definition.
The vertical strip I created by using the raindrops stamp from the rainbows and sunshine stamps and then also stamped the sentiment from the same set in Iced spruce distress oxide.
Then I created my rainbow…
I coloured the cardstock with stampin write markers and then die cut each slice of rainbow out. I also cut a white cloud out and adhered them all together.
I then coated each of the cloud, the rainbow and added a little to each raindrop too in wink of Stella so it is super sparkly in real life.
I didn’t want to do my usual trick of using blocks of paper to recreate the sketch and it was nice to break out of my comfort zone a little with this card, whilst keeping the essence of the sketch visible.
I hope you like the final effect.
Now please go see what the rest of the design team made on the challenge … it’s amazing how differently it can be interpreted.

I love the Turnabout stamps from Concord & 9th. They are super clever but also super easy to use. I own two of them and for this card made use of both of them.
I used the confetti and the Radiate ones to create the background. It was perhaps a little busy by the end but still I think it’s fab.
Then I added the sunshine and the circle of glitter embossed card to the centre and added it to the red card. I then stamped and embossed the sentiment and die cut that using a banner die from the Petals and More die set.
I decided to finish the sun off with the wink of Stella and glossy accents to add dimension and shine.
Love the look of this as the finishing touch.

Today is the summer solstice so I made a card featuring sunshine! Why? Well at the moment it’s a just because card. I’m not feeling brilliantly sunny myself so the sentiment seemed appropriate.
I used the fab Sunshine and Rainbows stampin up set with the coordinating dies and created the little rainbow and cloud scene with the little raindrops and the die cut the clouds, adding wink of Stella to make them shimmer, and the same with the sun. Before I adhered the sun though I added a layer of versamark and clear embossing to add shine.
Hope this card adds sunshine to your day. I certainly enjoyed making it and so it has helped me too!

During yesterday’s mammoth crafting session I wanted to make a fun pop up box card using both Magical Day and Sunshine and Rainbows stamp and die sets.
I started with a base of the Tranquil Tide cardstock and made the base using instructions I found online.
I stamped the unicorn a couple of times using grey archival ink. Then I added colour using SU inks and a water brush. Then coated them in wink of Stella and die cut them.
Rather than die cut lots of coloured cardstock for the rainbow I die cut them from white and used the same colours for the unicorn and watercoloured them.
I die cut the clouds from the white and the sun which I had stamped in Daffodil Delight. I also stamped the sentiment and diecut that separating the first and second part of the sentiment.
For the paper I added some from the latest Making Cards magazine as the rainbows matched so well. For the background I created a sky scene using the cloud border die from the Sunshine and Rainbows set as a stencil. I kept it soft using a stencil brush.
Then adhered it all together and added some sequins from the stash.
Love how cute these unicorns are! So sweet!
