Making Cards magazine … 5 cards one kit

Today I have 5 cards I made yesterday using the latest Making Cards magazine paper collection kit.

I filmed the process which you can watch here.

I love these papers and ran out if time making cards… I know I could have made many many more!

Love how all of these turned out. The colours are so lush and summery.

Will be back with more makes from this collection in the future I am sure.

Happy crafting!

Catch up from class

Earlier this month I held a crafting session with friends and I never got round to sharing the cards I ended up making during the class. As per usual I swapped things up so I wasn’t making the same as the samples…

The theme of the class was watercolour and florals and I love how differently these all ended up.

Designer Series Paper, Watercolor words

Striped patterned papers

I was watching Jennifer Maguire videos and saw her striped backgrounds and decided to make one of my own using patterned paper.

I chose some cutesy and bright patterned paper from the stash… it’s nice and spring like and the fact it was double sided and so coordinates perfectly with each other!

I love the cheery finish of this and all I needed to add the sentiment using the Watercolor Words stamps and heat embossed it. I also added a couple of flowers cut from the paper to embellish with some glitter gems for the centre.

More decoupage cards

Yes the remaining six decoupage cards I made from the Crafts Beautiful decouoage kit… these were made adding my own card blanks into the supplies…

The first three I added simple embossed sentiments and decoupage panels.

The final three I added some patterned paper and cardstock to finish them off in addition to sentiments either from the kit or from my stash.

I added glitter to some and little dots of glossy accents to others and on the final one I added flicks of pearlescent pink mica spray.

Loved this little play with decoupage for a change. And it just goes to show that allcrafting can be fun!

Last night’s crafty session

So I had lots of fun with my friends at last night’s crafty session. We each made a background….

Then we cut them up to a template and swapped pieces so that we would make 5 cards… two with the backgrounds we had made and the other three cards would be using one piece from the others.

So my cards … well if I am honest I finished them after work tonight before I put everything away… but they were mostly done last night…

Using my pieces of background…

From the piece that Mara made…

From the piece Mo made…

And finally the piece that Kathie made…

I loved being able to work with the panels others had made and love how different they all were. I must admit that as I had the luxury of a bit more time than just during the session I did add a few extra bits (the additional elements like the flowers and butterflies) but kept to the same available materials as at the session.

Really good fun!

Happy Celebrations, Petal Palette, Watercolor words

Petal Palette cards

Whilst I had the water colours out to play I made three cards using the lovely Petal Palette new stamps from SU. I did the stamping using the stamp platform to make stamping all three panels super easy and then coloured the images using watercolours.

I then chose to finish each with a different sentiment.  This one is a gentle happy birthday using the Watercolor Words stamps and then I added the glitter dots to add some shimmer.

Next I chose to do another with the watercolor words stamps.  This time I chose a different colour embossing powder and stickles.

The final card I chose the happy celebrations stamps and embossed the large celebrate and then stamped the rest of the sentiment in the same grey archival as the flowers.  I also chose liquid pearls for the dots for this.

This is a beautiful stamp to use and I can see me using it lots and lots in future for these simple but beautiful cards.

Entering these into the watercolour anything goes challenge at happy little stampers and the embossing challenge at stamp ink paper
