ATCs 316-319 oops more Christmas

Today I have four ATCs I’ve made using my favourite medium ever… distress oxides! So yes another entry for the Paperartsy challenge on their blog and four ATCs towards my 365 challenge. But once again I’ve broken the no more Christmas in August rule… and made 4 ATCs as card toppers for my Christmas card stash.

I started with a piece of cream cardstock from the stash A5 size and used the square gel press mini to add the inks. I used broken china, peacock feathers, iced spruce and twisted cotton.

This provided a pattern to the colour albeit a loose pattern. Next I added stamping and stencilling. I used a mixture of SU stamp sets new and old and used the same colours of ink to add the stamping and the stencilling.

Then I cut my pieces… I cut them slightly smaller than the ATCs and also cut some cardstock to the right size for the bases.

I do have some little pieces leftover but none big enough to make into a complete atc so I’ve set those aside to use another time.

Then I went about adding feature stamping. For two I added stamps from a retired stamp set… White Christmas.

Then I used Wonderland for this one.

Then the last one I used Carols of Christmas to add the baubles and deer silhouette.

I used the Tim Holtz stickers for simple sentiments. I love all of these and they are quite flat so perfect for card toppers for when the time comes to mount them and make them into Christmas cards.

Happy crafting!

Christmas in August… Distress oxide masterboard (306-309)

Another set of cards to share today… using the fabulous Wonderland stamps from SU and some old stash and the fab Distress oxide inks.

I created a masterboard and then cut out four ATCs to use as card toppers. These then got the trees heat embossed on them and then the sentiments cut out and added with some wooden accents I had also heat embossed with white. I finished them with a sequin centre for the snowflakes.

I stuck all four to some pre embossed card blanks.

I had some strips of masterboard left and this is what I did with it…

All in all a lovely set of cards all from one masterboard playing session!

Happy crafting!

Christmas in August… Resist technique

Hello

Another festive day today… and this time a resist technique using heat embossed stamping and then Stampin Write markers onto the mini gelli plate to add colour. I then matted them with different colours and added some different finishing touches.

All cards using the Carols of Christmas stampin up stamps (and the Wonderland stamps as well!)

And I made a quick video of the whole process… check it out on YouTube here.

Love these cute cards. So simple and yet so effective.

If you would like to create something like this and need these stamps or inks please do get in touch as I am now a Stampin Up demonstrator.

Christmas in August! 8 ATC card toppers (296-303)

So I’ve been away from crafting because the parents are staying but yesterday I got some crafting done and made a start on the Christmas cards the parents have requested. So be prepared for a week of christmas starting here.

Of course I had to start with some ATC sized ones to get some more towards the challenge plus to start my creativity flowing!

I’ve also bitten the bullet and signed up as a Stampin Up demonstrator so this was using SU products (mainly) to create a mixed media style cardtoppers. I have to say I am quite impressed with how they came together. The card blanks I used and the mounts were not SU but they were just from the stash I had to hand.

I stuck the camera on whilst I played so you can check out my process here on YouTube and ended up with these 8 cards!

So that’s me into the 300’s on my ATC challenge…. Just 62 to go! Woo hoo!

Happy crafting!

Brusho wonderland card

Here is the last of the sample cards I designed for my class with friends a few days ago.  Of course I couldn’t have a class not using Brusho crystal colours! & had to choose my favourite colour too… Black!

Also I broke the rule of no new tree stamps when I saw the Wonderland tree stamp set in the SU seasonal catalogue and bought it immediately!  Oops! But promise I will use this stamp loads.

Especially when I create beauties like this!

White embossing powder for trees and snowflakes. Brusho added with plenty of water. Left to dry. Then sentiment stamped and die cut.  Some snowflakes die cut and some twine wrapped round. A layer of cardstock with a border drawn and then some gems scattered.

Jobs a good’un!  Love this. Love these trees. Love Brusho!

And look how fabulous everyone’s cards looked…

I really am a very proud teacher… now just got to come up with some more projects to do with them as they asked to do it again! I think I may have converted them to crafting!
