Christmas in July madness! Distress oxide masterboard ATCs – Paperartsy challenge 290-295

Yes I thought I would join in with the Christmas in July madness … but also enter the Paperartsy aqua challenge again… and make another YouTube!

So the plan is to make ATCs which will end up as card toppers for Christmas cards.

I started with a piece of card 6×11.75 inches and added the distress oxides (cracked pistachio and broken china) with a blending tool. Then added some water drops and lifted some colour. Next I added some stencilled elements. Then took another stencil and removed colour using water again.

Next more pattern using stamping using the Darcy Christmas stamps.

Then I cut up the panel into ATC panels. Then I added clear texture paste through a stencil and left them to dry.

Next step was to add some netting or some muslin and machine sewing to adhere them.

Finally embellishment and feature stamp time! First pictured are the stocking ones. I used a stamp from Creative Stamping magazine set and in one case I darkened it with some peacock feathers and the other I left white. The stamping was using Lost Lagoon SU ink.

The next are Woodware stamps… I love these modern deer. I used a mixture of watercolour and normal pencils to add colour.

And finally (I couldn’t not do a tree based one!) Festival of Trees and embossing to create the last two.

Super happy with these and in total (without drying time) they took about an hour. So that’s 6 card individual arty card toppers made in an hour towards the Christmas batch. Not bad!

Happy crafting!

Butterfly birthday card

Today the princess went to the birthday party at a trampoline park for a school friend so a card was required. I decided to play with butterflies, masking and the big Woodware Happy Birthday stamps.

I used distress oxides to watercolour the butterflies and the letters.  Then I stamped the little star using the same colour inks. I then added some stickles to both the butterfly and the stars.

Hope the birthday girl enjoyed her birthday… I know the princess enjoyed her time trampolining!

Happy birthday H & M

Yesterday was the birthday of one of the princesses friends and her twin brother.  So I had two cards to make… So decided to film the process… especially as I had new stash to play with!

Yes new Paperartsy Paint is in the house.

Here are the two cards I made.

The one for Hannah uses the bright palette from Tracy Scott.

The one for Matthew uses the earthy colour palette Seth Apter chose for his second set of paints.

Both lovely and I’m really happy with how they both came out.

Happy birthday H and M!

Ghoulish Grunge, Woodware stamps

For ATC’S sake… 25

25 done…. already! Wowser!

And this is for another challenge!

I love the work of Marta who posts videos under Maremismallart on you tube.  She had now got a fb group called the creative cafe and the challenge this year is a playing card with a theme every week.  Week 1 (we’ve started a little late in the year) is ART.

My card isn’t going to be a playing card exactly but an ATC… if my card is the right size that’s fine… but I figure I will use a mixture of bases.

This started as the scratch paper from the class I did on Tuesday.  I added distress ink and some stamping using the Ghoulish Grunge stamp.

I then grabbed the woodware stamps I bought last week and used them to add the feature and sentiment. Then I added some doodling using both a black pen and my white sharpie paint pen.

I now have week 2’s card to make…. hopefully should get this done in the next day or so.

Happy crafting!
