Combining stencils

I decided I wanted to make a flat (ish) card so I started with the Treat Yourself stencil and created the Happy Birthday sentiment, adding in the ‘holes’ with the stamps.

Next I took the hanging houseplants stencils and added plants on the rest of the panel at the bottom. I filled in the gaps with some of the dotty stamps from the Treat Yourself set.

Then I created a second sentiment strip and the standalone plant to finish off with that raised up on foam… I couldn’t keep it completely flat!

As the panel was a little shorter than I meant it to be I decided to still stick it toward the bottom of the card blank but added a wrapped around embellishment of the sari scrap ribbon which the colours matched well with the colours I’d chosen. This of course meant it wouldn’t be a flat card either. But it’s not as dimensional as I usually make!

Just love these plants and that sentiment stencil is fabulous! So pleased with these two sets I bought … well worth the splurge on their own … really need to stop grabbing the same things and try some of the other stash too!

Happy crafting!

PS also been obsessed with Calypso coral and yellow recently … I need to play with blues for a change … maybe it is because I needed to get away from all the Christmas cards I made using blues? Or maybe I should just go full on pink to honour Barbie… went to see the film today with my mum and daughter and I am delighted to announce that it is well worth the hype. What a film!
