Another DT project to share for you that I made for the September show on Hobbymaker.tv for today’s Scrappin Saturday – I can’t believe I hadn’t shared this until now!
This one was using the fab Summer Fun kit and my main thought was to use a few of those fab borders that are in the kit – there are loads in this particular kit!

I started with the picture as always – a pic of hubby and teenager watching the waves eating ice creams (you can’t see that but I know it was happening!) from our holidays in Menorca in October 2023.
The blues in the photo mean I immediately gravitated to that for the base and I had known I wanted to use the borders so grabbed three of those that were relevant for the photo.

I decided I wanted to capture the splashes and also bring some white onto the page so used a mixture of gesso and Kraft ink on the page with blending foams and splashes. Was quite a messy but fun process to get this down!
I then added the three borders across the page towards the bottom.

Next I worked on the photo and added some mats underneath to create some interest and separate it from the patterned borders.
Once that was all layered together I added it using foam adhesive to raise it up. It helped again to give it some dimension.

I added some scraps to the top right to add interest there and then went through the die cut ephemera pieces in the kit to add the title and the interesting extra bits like the camera and the geotag.

I added my journalling and some extra bits of white using a white paint pen to add doodles round the blue patterned paper which helped lift it from the background panel too.
Decided against adding twine (although I was tempted) or the adhesive enamel dots as the mixed media in the background felt enough!
Loved this day out in Menorca and loved reliving the day through scrapping it – I think this is one of the joys of scrapping is the memories it evokes when making the page and then looking back at it!

Happy crafting!
