DT: Creative Knockouts – Outside Fun – Dr Digi

Today’s challenge at Creative Knockouts is to make something with the theme of Outside Fun and I thought these elves certainly look like they are having fun in the snow! The image is a digital stamp from Dr Digi who are sponsoring this challenge.

I did my usual trick of printing multiple of the same image onto one piece of card and then colouring them all in – so in addition to these two, I’ve got another two images coloured ready for a future point where I want to sit down and craft and just grab the ready coloured images!

I kept these super simple …

  • Coloured with alcohol markers
  • Trimmed the images down
  • Found scraps of cardstock big enough to mount the images
  • Found two pieces of cardstock already foiled with the fab pine plate and trimmed them to fit the card blanks
  • Grabbed acetate sentiment banners from the stash
  • Mounted them onto white cardstock (they were a little too see through and the image was distracting from the sentiment)
  • Glued down panels and adhered sentiment with foam adhesive
  • Added card Candi to embellish and bring out a bit more red

And that was two cards done! I actually did these in my lunch break – that’s how simple they were!

Ok if you had to foil the backgrounds as part of the make that would have taken longer but these were made when I first got the plate and was obsessed with trying it out so I had these panels already done!

So cute! And love these quite clean cards – a bit of a different approach to my normal crafting – but when the image is fun it is good to have that be the dominant element on the card!

Happy crafting!

Catherine
